Just returned from a visit over Easter. Hotel Oxford is a good 3* base for seeing Rome. Excellent staff - very friendly and helpful. Good location in a nice area, but close enough to walk into the main part of the city. Quiet at night and some restaurants nearby, particularly 'Il Sorriso' on Via Flavia. Overall, the hotel was very...

A lovely hotel, well situated, clean & comfortable. The staff are very friendly. The food is good plus a good bar service. They are extremely helpful with excursions, bus trip bookings etc. I would stay here again

We stayed here over the Easter break. The location was ideal, a 15 min walk to the Spanish steps, and round the corner from some good restaurants on Via Veneto. The hotel is spotlessly clean, and although the rooms aren't massive (particularly the shower closet was very small) and our room had a lack of natural light, the air conditioning...

This is a small family run hotel where staff and owners are very friendly and helpful. For a three star hotel it is in my opinion very good value for money, clean and homely rather than an institution which is how the larger 4* plus hotels feel. It's location for all the sites of Rome is well place and there...

We (2 adults and 2 children) just got back from a wonderful trip to Rome. We stayed at Hotel Oxford for 4 nights and really enjoyed it. The room was quite small, but very clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. The service and atmosphere was excellent. We felt "at home" and truly recommend a stay here!

Visited The Oxford with 4 friends in March and couldn’t fault our stay. I stayed in a triple room which was plenty big enough for 3 people, comfortable beds, excellent shower, very clean. The hotel is traditional in style, some may call it old fashioned but I prefer Italian charm ;) Breakfast is buffet style and offered plenty to set...

Good value hotel, it is very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It is a bit off the historical centre, but still in a reasonable distance to the major locations. The only annoyance was that the room was very small for a family of 4. It looks like they just added two beds to a standard double...

My wife and I are on our honeymoon and this hotel was very nice. Clean rooms, and very close to the Ciao Rome tour bus. Breakfast is decent. Hotel staff were always very helpful and friendly. Especially the bellman. Personal car to airport :). Restaurant downstairs is EXTREMELY good and very well priced.

Very enjoyable stay at this wonderful little hotel. Quite a long walk from main attractions but worth it. Quiet area with good restaurants in the vicinity. Clean bedrooms and public areas, very comfortable beds and well-functioning bathroom facilities. Best feature of this hotel is its friendly and very helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again.

This is a good hotel, very friendly, clean, and the Breakfast is as good as any other. A little out of the centre of Rome but we managed to walk to all of the attractions from there including the Vatican. The building is, like many others in Rome, very old and some of the structure (like the stairs and lift)...

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.
