Stayed here 3 nights 14th November.Bit apprehensive about booking on internet but everything the site tells you is correct.Hotel is exactly 10minutes walk from Termini (in nice direction!)and drop off point for Terravision coach from airport.Directions were good, hotel easy to find, one way street with supermarket on opposite corner and Bank across the road.OK there isn't a lift to reception which... As most reviewers were very positieve, expectations were high. However there were some points in need of attention: - room size may vary. Our room size was so small that the twin beds were virtually matrimonial. - The receptionist keeps pushing certain restaurants thta didn't - tot say the least - appeal to me. Tip: La Carbonara in the nearby... More

We stayed in the Lirico for 4 nights. The location is great beacuse it's within walking distance of the city centre and the Repubblica metro (subway)/bus station, so either way, getting around is very easy. The staff are very helpful and speak good English (especially Tony!) and are always willing to suggest ideas for a nicer stay. Even when we... More

We liked this hotel a lot. It is well located - within walking distance of many major sites but also just a few blocks away from Termini and the buses/Metro if you need to rest your feet! Our room was quite small but very clean and the shower room/toilet was fine. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and... More

Booked a triple room at this hotel direct via the hotel's website. Excellent value for money. Emailed the hotel direct and their responses were very helpful and prompt. It is very close to Termini Station, ten minutes walk at most, and the area always felt very safe. It makes an excellent base for getting around Rome as there is a... More

I had a small group of people at the Lirico the end of September. The location was great, and the staff (especially Tony) spoke good English, and were quite helpful. The rooms are perfectly adequate, and we were very pleased with our stay there. You should be in pretty good shape to get up the first set of stairs, but... More

We just ended a two week European vacation with a wonderful stay at Hotel Lirico in Rome. The hotel is in a great, safe location. It's a short, easy to find, 5-10 minute walk from the main train station. Most everything (Colloseum, Forum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain) are with short walking distances. It's better to walk and take in the great... More

Good clean hotel, only 5 min walk from central train station. Friendly reception staff, and nice breakfast. Would use again on future trips to Rome. Easy to access all major tourist attractions, either on foot (20-30 min) the numerous buses or the reliable underground.

Pretty good location. Rome is not as easy to get around as some other European cities, but that's not due to the hotel. Walking distance to central train station and Republica Metro station. Walkable (but long) to Coliseum/Forum (or take the Metro). Supermarket across the street was very convenient. Gelato shop across the street was also very nice! Helpful staff.... More

Stayed there with my 15-year-old daughter for 2 nights in late August. Considering the reasonable rate (€ 95 per night) we were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, the aircon. worked very well (when booking the room I wasn't sure we would need it - but we did!) and even though it was right off the reception area, the insulation... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
