Hotel Forum Roma receives a mixture of feedback from its guests. Many commend the hotel for its cleanliness and the rooftop bar's captivating views, while the breakfast selection gains appreciation despite some drawbacks. The hotel's proximity to attractions is a highlight, though noise levels and high costs are a concern for some.
Service quality appears inconsistent, with experiences ranging from excellent to disappointing. Guest opinions on value are tilted towards the negative, citing overpriced rooms that don't quite meet expectations. The atmosphere is admired for its classic appeal, yet the rooms often disappoint due to discomfort and datedness.

A beautiful hotel. The Valet was there when we arrived to take our luggage to our rooms. He was lovely & made us feel very welcome. Our rooms were 412 & 407. Both rooms had everything needed. 407 had a beautiful view but 412 was a little dark inside. However, both rooms were beautifully furnished, the bedding was crisp, clean & fresh. The rooms were cleaned daily & to a very high standard…thank you. Breakfast was varied with cold meats, pastries, cheese & hot options of scrambled egg. Some may think, basic, but it was a sufficient, fresh & tasty to start to our day on a city break. The coffees were excellent too. There is access to the rooms via a lift. The hotel is old but the furnishings, decor & general environment is stunning, classy & lovingly maintained. We loved the art work around the hotel and the wooden finishes/bannisters were fantastic. Location for sightseeing is excellent with many attractions within walking distance. Our friend has difficulty with walking & the hotel staff were always on hand to call a taxi for us, or to provide a wheelchair for our friend. Nothing was too much trouble and every staff member we came into contact with was friendly, helpful and professionally presented. The American Bar drinks were expensive but the quality of measure, variety & location views were worth the cost. A stunning setting! If I return to Rome for a 4th time I would opt to stay at the Forum Hotel again. It is by far the best hotel I have stayed in on my trips to the area. Thank you to all of you for a memorable stay.

Unique place! Starting from the kindness of both male and female staff, our room with a view of the holes was wonderful, EXCELLENT cleanliness of the spaces, welcoming and the view was unique... even in the bathroom you could enjoy a view of the holes. As far as I'm concerned we have found our nest for every visit to Rome. I also recommend it for its strategic position. Plus I want to compliment the cuisine on the terrace, we had a super positive experience, unique flavours. The restaurant staff were very well trained. They have a fantastic terrace with an American bar where the cocktails are excellent. As for the very abundant breakfast, HIGH QUALITY products. Leaving Rome after finding such a unique place makes you melancholy. See you soon ❤️ Thank you.

I flew to Rome solely for the David Gilmour concert, the selection criterion for the Hotel Forum was that Circus Maximus was within walking distance of the hotel. The location is of course sensational with quick access to many attractions. Restaurants are plentiful within 5 minutes and a small shop directly opposite where you can buy a water cheaply.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, which is rather unusual in this day and age. In the hotel you have the feeling that time has stopped at some point, but this is no disadvantage. This hotel breathes and has a soul, you feel comfortable. My room went into a backyard, I didn't see anything (for what) but it was very quiet, very large and very clean. Only the lack of a proper reading light “bothered” me a bit. Also nice is the roof terrace where breakfast is served. The breakfast buffet is rather small, but there was a cereal and cornettos, so I am at least well served.
Should I come back to Rome, I will gladly consider this hotel again.

We chose to go to this hotel as we had passed it many times on previous holidays to Rome. It has a fabulous location and we liked the quaint, slightly old fashioned look of it - we do not like corporate hotels. On the positive we're it's location, straight across from the forum, and the amazing roof top breakfast terrace. Very sadly, the negatives, whilst not ruining the holiday, did outweigh the positives and we won't visit again. The air conditioning was woefully inadequate, the room was never cool (which is not good in the height of summer in Rome!). The shower was always at a low pressure, so showers were long but cool! There was a power cut in the area on our penultimate night, which the majority of guests were understanding was not the hotel's fault. However, their response to this was poor and they appeared to have no emergency plan. This happened at night and meant many guests could not get into their rooms for hours and until the early hours of the morning. During this time, there was no checking on guests, some of whom were elderly, no offer of water until some of us hassled for it, and absolutely no information unless we asked staff. Even if there was nothing to update, this in itself would have been good to know. The power cut aside, we would still not rate this as 4 star....you cannot rely on location alone. Such a shame as it could be so much more.

There are two things you cannot complain about for the Hotel Forum: (1) the location; and (2) the rooftop bar. Unfortunately, that's about the extent of the great things about the hotel.
Hotel Forum calls itself a four (4) star hotel, perhaps it is in Roman standards but from my point of view, it is 3.5 stars at best. Located in an amazing part of the city (right next to the Forum and Colosseum), the hotel is dated, the amenities could be significantly improved, and the services offered to its customers could be better.
The "classic double room" was small, just enough room for a double sized bed (neither Queen sized nor King sized for us Americans but legit European double), a desk (where you really aren't able to work at), and enough room to lay out a large piece of luggage. The bathroom had a shower, a toilet, bidet, and sink without much room to maneuver around. The decor and furniture were dated and we always had difficulties with the door when we left the room. The elevators are tiny and old; they fit, at most, 3 "average" sized adults, and the wait took forever. The breakfast was just average. The buffet offered scrambled eggs (made from real eggs but looked quite odd), bacon, a variety of smoked meats and brie with a couple other types of cheeses wrapped in plastic, cereal, yogurt, limited canned fruit, breads, a pancake machine, and various pastries. Drinks included coffee, tea, juices clearly from concentrate and water.
The rooftop bar in the evening, however, is a gem. The view overlooking the forum in the evening is gorgeous and the cocktails (though pricey, especially for a four star hotel) were some of the best that I had. The team working the bar the two evenings we were there were also wonderful. Unfortunately, the rooftop bar is only open during the evenings from 7pm onwards. It would be nice to have an area to relax, have a drink and nibblies during the day when the sun is out.
One thing that really made the stay not enjoyable was the fact that the hotel was the site of filming for a movie/tv-show. We as guests were provided with no advanced notice or even any notice when we checked in. We literallly walked into production and were often times asked to wait while a scene was finished shooting before we could leave the hotel or enter. Also, the crew took over the entire lobby of the hotel and front area and one elevator so we were down to 1 elevator for the entire hotel and times where we could not walk freely in or out or throughout the hotel. I would have expected that the customers would have been informed in advanced of such filming, or, at the very least, when we were checking in. Also for the price that we paid, it was extremely disappointing.
There are a number of hotels in the area, some of which we have stayed at. Save for the rooftop bar, unfortunately the other hotels were better and we will likely not come back to the Hotel Forum.

We were initially staying at another location which suddenly had last minute plumbing issues right during the Easter holidays. We therefore had to book a room and move into Hotel Forum suddenly late at night over Easter weekend. We are so grateful to the hotel staff who helped us to check in late at night and carry our bags to our room - this helped to make a stressful situation much easier for us to deal with. Thank you.
Although we hadn't intended to stay in this hotel and had to move in suddenly due to the plumbing emergency in our original accommodation, we are so glad we ended up completing our stay at Hotel Forum. It made the last few days of our trip to Rome so wonderful and magical - from waking up every morning to a beautiful view over the Forum, opening the windows and hearing the music being played out in the streets below drift to us (which made me feel like I was being serenaded!), to having breakfast at the stunning rooftop restaurant enjoying the most incredible views... Everything was wonderful and I only wish we had stayed at this hotel from the beginning of our trip and had the time to explore all the facilities properly. We did not get a chance to have drinks up at the American bar for example, although the staff were kind enough to let us visit the bar when it was closed to have a look at the views. Just incredible.
We staying during Easter weekend and especially appreciated finding the little chocolate egg on our pillows on Easter Sunday. So thoughtful and lovely.
Thank you so much to all the staff who made our last few days in Rome so enjoyable after the stress of having to suddenly find new accommodation late at night. We hope to come back to Hotel Forum for another milestone anniversary and this time spend longer at this hotel. Thank you.

We had a one-night reservation for a triple room at Hotel Forum in June 2024. Before getting there, I noticed the upper category was not yet booked, so I thought I would ask for an upgrade to the front desk attendant position. He was extremely rude, curt and monosyllabic. We had to leave for our prebooked activities, so we left the baggage there without checking our room. When we got back, we had been placed on what they called a "deluxe classic room" which was an upgrade according to them because it had Forum views. However, when I asked how it was an upgrade, as it did not have more space or amenities, they would not clarify. I asked them whether it was a more expensive room, and they pretended not to know what the price for the room was. It felt very much like a sting. As we told them, we prioritised more space, not more views, so we requested our triple room back. However, apparently, within the three hours we had spent walking around the city, it was gone. We then asked for a solution, as this looked more like a downgrade. They ended up offering us another single room, without cost, not before insisting we were mistaken. The evening front desk attendant was equally rude. It is regrettable because the property is charming in a classic, run-down way, which we actually like, and the terrace breakfast is good and has breathtaking views of the Forum. My hair dryer did not work, and when I discovered it after showering and with my wet hair dripping, the front desk replied to my request for a functioning one with "in a while", to which I energetically requested that the "while" be "as short as possible". It came within ten minutes. Of course, when we asked them to get a cab, they replied, "It is a 5-minute walk" to our destination, but the honest answer would have been: "Taxis will not come here; they are negotiating their tariffs directly with the customer, on the street" which is what we found out later. We took a cab to the airport, and we booked it ourselves through Booking. So, all in all, it is a great great location if you want to visit the Forum and Coliseum areas, provided you do not need anything from the front desk. It is a pity. The property deserves a more polite staff.

We always do everything possible to please our customers, You have booked a triple and ask for a free upgrade, we give you a Deluxe with view on the Imperial Forums at the same price and you are not satisfied ( the doorman can’t tell you the price of the deluxe because it changes according to many factors such as demand and availability ) . We can call for you a taxi, it takes 5 minutes to come and you can wait it in the lobby.

The staff (especially the bell hop) were amazing and very accommodating. We did need two rooms and while they were a great size and nice, one of them smelled like cigarette smoke. Not much the hotel can do if a guest smokes in the room though and I did bring it to their attention so hopefully they clean it better to help with the smell. The rooftop bar was nice but the drinks were very pricey ($60 for 3 drinks). Loved the breakfast included the next day, pancake maker was a bit slow and it did take some time waiting to use it.

What an amazing Hotel the Forum is, the staff are welcoming and professional from the front desk to housekeeping. We selected a room with a view and were on the 4th floor at the front where we could watch the hustle and bustle of the city. The room was a traditional Italian design with beautiful furniture a huge comfortable bed plenty of storage and was spotlessly clean. The roof terrace restaurant where breakfast was served has spectacular views over Rome, a perfect way to start the day. There is a large selection of breakfast items available from cereals, fruit, cheeses, cooked meat and breads also hot bacon and scrambled eggs and sweet treats all beautifully presented. The Forum is in a perfect position only a stone's throw from the sights. I would recommend the Hotel for your stay in Rome

Have stayed previously with family but was on a solo trip this time. Booked classic double room (403) for solo use and was very pleasantly surprised. The room was not huge but was very spacious for one person. The side view from the window was of the forum and getting ready in the morning with the window open and the music from the street was fab. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom recently renovated. There was a mini bar in the room and a safe. The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful and allowed me to check in 4 hours before check in time as my room was ready - this was a real bonus. There is a left luggage facility. The room top bar was fantastic for an afternoon coffee and a before dinner drink - the view is fantastic. The restaurant was pleasant to sit in and the breakfast was buffet with a hot and cold selection. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend

Hi - as the other's have said there is a left luggage. I got to the hotel at 11am which is around 4 hours earlier than check-in and my room was available at that time so they just checked me in right away which was a great start to the day. Have a fab time

So sorry not to reply. I don't check my alerts. I expect you're sorted now but you don't really need a room with a view when you have such a stunning view from the terrace.
Dear Sabbycat,
breakfast is overlooking the Imperial Forums on the panoramic terrace,
the cost is €18,00 per person if not included in the room rate.
You can find eggs, bacon, cheeses, sweets, ham, pies, biscuits, hot croissants, yogurt, fruit juices, nutella, jams, muesli ....
