We stayed for 3 nights at the Forum Hotel, Rome.
Firstly the hotel is in the perfect location, ideally situated close to all the top tourist attractions.
On arrival we were greeted warmly by a helpful concierge and after a small mix up over our room which was sorted quickly with no fuss, we drank our complimentary Prosecco while admiring the view of the forum ruins right outside our window! Just wow.
Our room was spacious, tastefully decorated and clean.
We had cocktails at the American rooftop bar (oh the views!) and dined at a little restaurant just a few steps away, which was recommended and booked by the helpful concierge.
The breakfast was varied and tasty, and enjoyed with more spectacular views!
We count ourselves incredibly lucky to have stayed at Hotel Forum Roma and when we return to Rome we will definitely stay there again!
Thank you for making our stay so special!

We visited Rome last year from 31st March to 3rd April. We stayed at the Hotel Forum. When we booked in reception we were greeted with opulent elegance. Decorations were ornate, velvet, sumptuous. The reception staff were somewhat aloof and did not seem to want to engage in conversation but the hotel was great. The lift was small and would struggle to carry many people, we often had to wait for the next one. The views across the forum were amazing. We enjoyed a fabulous buffet breakfast, in the rooftop restaurant, watching sparrows hopping in under the canopy, overlooking panoramic views whilst enjoying fruit, pastries and coffee. The cooked breakfast option was limited but we were in Italy and wanted to enjoy the full experience. The waitresses at breakfast were lovely. We did not eat there in the evening as it was somewhat expensive and wanted to try local restaurants within walking distance. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable and we would definitely recommend and return.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. Our spectacular rooftop terrace is the ideal spot to start the day with breakfast while overlooking beautiful Rome, and we are thrilled that you had such a wonderful experience here. Your kind words about our team members are greatly appreciated. However, we regret that you felt the service provided by our reception team did not meet our high standards and rest assured we will be sure to address this with our team members. Nevertheless, we are so pleased that you found your room to be so comfortable. Your kind recommendation is greatly appreciated, thank you once again! We look forward to welcoming you back on another occasion. Kind regards, La direzione

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Perfect location for exploring Rome and seeing the major attractions

The hotel is quaint, and that’s part of its charm. The room with a view is worth booking as it’s spacious and had everything we needed. Tea and coffee making facilities available and a well stocked mini bar (costly but that’s expected).
Breakfast was absolutely delightful... a fab selection of cold meats, cheeses, breads and pastries, juice, fruit and cakes. The coffee was perfect and there were different options. The scrambled eggs and bacon did not disappoint!

Having said that, the hotel needs to upgrade its offer of irons! We were on the 4th floor and had to trudge down to the first floor to iron in a cupboard! If like me you need to iron your clothes it’s a bit of a pain. Could also benefit from having info in the room about the hotel!!

Must do: Visit the American Bar on the top floor..amazing.

Meal prices were very high but we wanted to experience the local cuisine do not an issue for us!!
Also the hotel is being refurbished but it wasn’t noisy at night so not a problem at all.

Will return again
P.s- Jacob the concierge is brilliant!!

We stayed for 4 nights in a twin room with a view. The first 2 nights were alright, as the rooftop bar was nice and the location was great, but you could hear everything in the corridor and vice versa, and when the neighbouring room turned on a tap in the night, the walls groaned loud enough to wake me up twice. All in all, it was pretty average.

On the 3rd evening the sink in our bathroom exploded whilst the hot tap was running. The hotel said they were fully booked so couldn't offer us another room, but gave us the key to a single room at the other end to use the bathroom and supposedly swept up the glass. They cleared the largest chunks, but left all the shards shown in the photos and recommended we use the bathroom at the other side of the floor.

The next day they said to pack up and that they'd change our room whilst we were out. When we got back, they said they'd fixed our sink. We walked into the bathroom to see what they'd done and could still hear the crunching glass beneath our shoes.

We decided to go to bed rather than be messed around more, as after supposedly cleaning the glass up twice and failing we didn't have much confidence in them and we were exhausted.

We're glad we didn't tread n any glass barefoot, as the pieces were sizable enough that we wouldn't be walking around all day afterwards, and would have cut our holiday in half. I don't feel that the hotel took the issue seriously, and as a result left the room in a dangerous state. After getting home and logging a complaint, the most they would offer us was 15% off of our next stay there. We won't be returning.

Stayed in Hotel Forum for a four night stay with my mum and we really couldn’t fault it. The view from our room was stunning with a view overlooking the forum. The location was perfect as it’s a few minutes walk from the coliseum, we ended up using the metro everyday which is also just a few minutes walk. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially the lady who served us breakfast everyday who was particularly lovely! Thoroughly recommend staying at hotel forum will come again.

Booked by my mother in-law for their 25th wedding anniversary. Hotel room was clean and tidy however it could just a little TLC. Breakfast was a buffet which was also very nice, always had a table ready for us and provide a nice gluten free basket. The roof bar is a good idea however we didn’t drink there was was far to expensive €18 for a gin and tonic was a bit much. Staff at the hotel were very nice...(even when we got stuck in the lift). Lovely hotel would come back again.

Situated right in the heart of the Ancient city, only 10 steps away from the ruins of the Roman Forum, this has to be the most desirable tourist location in Rome. This hotel however offers so very much more. It is charming and quaint of course, but it is also modern with all the facilities and accessories expected of 4/5 starred hotel. Each room is different in decor and in size. I booked two rooms, one for my husband and I and another for friends with whom we were traveling. Unfortunately, we were assigned a small room, while our friends' room was similar, but much bigger. I guess it is the luck of the draw, but I was disappointed. When I complained, the receptionist offered to change our room, but it could not be accomplished until the following day. Our tour schedule did not permit such an upheaval, so we opted to stay put. Regarding the staff, I cannot say enough about their kindness, helpfulness, and professionalism. On a dark, rainy night we found ourselves stranded at the Etruscan Museum and unable to hail, or order a taxi by phone. In desperation we phoned the hotel who sent a car for us immediately. Thank you again to the staff for all their efforts on our behalf. I must also note that the Roof Top Restaurant at the Forum Hotel is wonderful and has the best roof top view of the Roman Forum in Rome. The buffet breakfast offers a wide variety of tasty items, and the dinner menu rivals the very best restaurants in a city full of great restaurants. Be sure to book this hotel well in advance of your stay as it is a very popular hotel for obvious reasons.

I chose a triple room as I was travelling with my two daughters for a birthday celebration and we wanted to be together. The hotel is right next to the Roman forum and a short walk from the colosseum (both can be seen from the rooftop restaurant, which is lovely). Disappointed that there were ants in my room and we had an issue with water. I told staff twice (afternoon and evening) when discovered but this wasn’t passed on to day staff who I informed again the next day. The room was treated whilst we were out for the day but this wasn’t passed on to colleagues so when we arrived back and asked about our room they didn’t know what to say to us. Dead ants were not cleaned away in bathroom after treatment (were still there when we left 2 days later). A pity as everything else about the hotel is good and food was really nice. This was a 4th floor room.

Dear Karamel71, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. We thank you for expressing your satisfaction with the location and the services that our hotel has given you during your stay. We are sorry for any inconvenience. Once our team were aware of the issue, they proposed another room but this was refused. We can advise that the room was cleaned thoroughly as planned, there were no further ants at this point, perhaps this occurred after cleaning. Our team would be happy to offer further assistance if required. We hope to see you again in the future. Best wishes for the coming year, La direzione

We booked this hotel as part of a last minute break. The location of the hotel is fabulous- we previously stayed in Rome just a stone's throw from the Vatican and preferred this location. The hotel overlooks the Forum and the Colosseum is close by. The main bonus for us was the amount of good quality bars and restaurants a lovely short walk away from the hotel, through the cobbled streets.
The hotel itself is traditionally furnished and stylish. Our room overlooked the Forum and was so quiet- we slept really well. The room was comfortable and clean with daily housekeeping.
We opted for bed and breakfast- the view from the restaurant terrace is beautiful and breakfast was fresh and enjoyable. The staff were so friendly and helpful and our experience was overwhelmingly positive. There was a clear need to comply with Covid19 guidance, which we were concerned would impact negatively but our trip to Rome was excellent and the hotel Forum definitely played its part in ensuring we had a great city break.

The check in process was pleasant and our room was actually ready and it was on,y 9:30 am. They let us into our room which was a decent size (we opted for the Superior room) for European standards with traditional decor and and a bit dated but it works for this kind of hotel. Excellent old style hotel located right across the street from the Forum. So many important attractions nearby with loads of wonderful restaurants and bars nearby. The Forum has a lovely classy high end restaurant on the top floor with fabulous views and delicious food. There is also a bar in the hotel and a few stops up from the Garden restaurant that is a fantastic place to get some tapas and a few drinks. Views are Fabulous. Two very small old style elevators are helpful if you’re on the upper floors.
A negative for us was that the lobby was a bit shabby looking in the lobby and smelled smoky. The best part of this hotel is the location. You can’t beat it. They will also arrange a private driver from the airport which was 55 Euros for two people; they will accept American money and credit cards with a 10% fee. It’s about 35 minutes from the airport. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.
