The hotel is in a great location as it is just a short distance from the center of Rome. However, this means that there can be quite a bit of noise. The rooms were a decent size, but the bathroom had a somewhat small shower that did not even have hot water. Not sure if this was because there were...

We stayed here with an unruly group of 40 Americans - mostly high-schoolers. Staff were patient and helpful. Rooms are clean, cleaning staff is prompt and unobtrusive, all bathroom fixtures worked well, good shower water pressure/heat. Good breakfast spread in the top floor cafe, but BYO protein- gorgeous sunrise view over the city from rooftop patio. Stay quiet during quiet...

The Hotel Carlo Magno was a pleasant surprise. My room on the second floor was spacious. The bath was also spacious. AND hot water was really hot, unlike some other hotels in Rome. Also the room was quiet with no sounds from the next rooms. Another surprise was the breakfast; not the usual coffee and pastry, but a fuller fare...

Lovely wide open central lounging areas near lobby decent wifi (better in the lobby) Some showers in bathrooms need updating/repair/sealing wonderful European buffet breakfast with tarts and pastries, sliced meats, cheeses, breads and spreads, yogurt, juices, and coffee options. Open terrace that we didn't use, but looked nice.

We stayed for three nights. Breakfast Buffet was typical and plentiful. Rooms small with bed and pillows needing upgrading. Bring your own shampoo. Bathroom clean. AC not efficient slept with open windows. Close to Main Street so very noisy. Small slow elevator.

Do not stay here. Recently stayed here and would not stay again. Waste of money!! Staff is very rude, air conditioning does not work, beds had stains and hair in them, and it's in the middle of a ghetto!

This hotel is a great choice if you want to be somewhat close (15 minute drive) to the Ancient Rome center without paying a fortune. We were on the 6th floor. I was thankful I packed light because the elevator was small and slow. The morning breakfast was really good with lots of options. I highly recommend eating out on...

No location at all, except for the seafood restaurant across the street, dirty rooms, ruined furniture, clogged bath and sink, it's a nightmare finding a place to park. Next door Hotel, sponsored by Best Western, waaaaaaaay better and cheaper. Just top floor restaurant's personnel real friendly and nice people. Free internet last forever. Extremely slow

We arrived in rome and onto our hotel. We were told we were double booked and were carted off to the Carlo Magno. With that done, we arrived and the staff were very friendly. This is a hotel just to out your stuff and and sleep. Clean and tidy and decent breakfast. We had a excellent time in rome and...

As a Turkish tourist group on September 2014 we stayed at this hotel. Rooms were dirty, there were no voice isolation. There was only one elevator for guests and that elevator did not have any sensors . One of my friend was about to stuck her arm in elevator. On the last day of our trip in Rome before going...

“Ask for a lower floor (so you don't have to go up and down stairs and wi-fi sort of works on 2nd floor). Bring your own pillow if you don't like flat hard ones. Typical of old hotels, but totally not a bargain breaker, ya know? I had a view of the street. My friends had a view of the buildings surrounding the hotel. It was a quiet off the main street hotel.”
