We had a superb 8 day stay at Hotel Barocco, an outstanding boutique hotel on a quiet side street off Piazza Barberini, near a taxi stand and Metro in central Rome, walking distance to many major sites in all directions. The rooms are brightly lit, immaculate, and spacious with excellent mattress and bedding. The service and staff (concierges, wait staff and housekeeping) are all excellent in their respective roles: knowledgeable, friendly, service-oriented, and eager to help. The breakfast offers great value with a large and varied array of foods and beverages brought to your table and made to order by a talented chef. Bottled water is available daily, umbrellas are available if needed, and the concierges offer excellent recommendations and advice. The shower mechanisms are challenging to use, but with that one exception this hotel offered all we could have wished for and more. Sincere thanks to the entire Barocco team. Very highly recommended.

I had a most positive experience staying at the Hotel Barocco in Rome. This was my 2nd stay there. The hotel is centrally located within walking distance to most significant places to visit. Is very well organized and managed; a safe place. The breakfast is a la carte and included in the price and by booking your time it’s very efficient. But it’s really the staff that makes this hotel special. Staff at the breakfast is not only efficient but welcoming with a smile at all times, providing pleasant experience to start the day. Room cleaning is also very efficient, always done during the morning hours. And lastly, the reception staff is very helpful to make the trip most successful and less stressful. The manager is on top of things, visibly present to provide any support one needs.

Hotel is ideally located within 20 mins from the Colosseum, Trevi and Spanish Steps and a stones throw from many fab restaurants. It’s a small independent hotel We booked directly and took advantage of the welcome package.

We were in room 52 which was a side room on the 5th floor. Our room was next to the lift. No noise from the shaft, but we often heard customers talking whilst waiting for the lift. Although we are very close to the main road, double glazing cut out any road traffic.

The room we were given was well equipped with safe, mini fridge, slippers and robes and loads of lovely hair products and showering gels as well as hairdryer. The shower itself was large but the water power wasn’t brilliant. Big TV on the wall and if you have Netflix or Prime TV, you can log into ur account. WiFi was also good. Room was cleaned daily and to a good standard.

Breakfast was well worth taking. Lots of choices , fresh and delicious,so it will suit everyone. Stephano was wonderful looking after all his guests as were reception and the bar in the eve. Nothing was too much trouble. You have to book your time slot the day before for brekkie.

They also put a bottle of Prosecco on arrival for my partner as it was his birthday which was a lovely surprise for him.

Only comment I have is them not having tea or coffee facilities in the room and me having to go to the bar to get it and costing €4 for a small tea cup.

All in all we had a wonderful stay and would definitely return if we came to Rome.

We had just come away from a week long Cunard cruise on the Queen Victoria, so had already been pretty spoiled, but this was something else. From the moment we set foot in the reception area the unbelievably friendly staff just made us feel so welcome. They looked after our luggage whilst we went exploring because we had arrived way before the check in time, but they also delivered it to our room whilst we were out. They provided bottled water for us to take with us and spent ages pointing out the best, and closest, of Rome's many attractions. When we returned, we had been upgraded to room 43 - if you ever get the chance to stay in that room I cannot recommend it too highly - complete with roof terrace and outside bath and sauna (not needed in the 36 degrees Rome heat).

Breakfast in the morning was superb, overseen by the fabulous Stefano - slight shades on Basil Fawlty here but in a wonderfully good, and slightly eccentric, way. Food and the other staff were both excellent, as were the staff in the bar in the evening. The decor is lovely and the bed and pillows are probably the most comfortable that we have ever enjoyed anywhere. In short, it was the most perfect 2 nights stay in a great, central, location at what I felt was a very reasonable price. I really cannot recommend this hotel and its fabulous staff too highly. As Stefano himself would say: "perfecto"! Says it all.

It’s hard to find a hotel in a major city that checks all the boxes of location, hospitality, room quality and reasonably priced but we found all of the above at this hotel.
The hotel was located within a 10-15 minute walk of many major tourist attractions.
The reception desk staff were very hospitable. Breakfast was included and was not an ordinary breakfast but a very elegant experience. Stephano, the breakfast host, was absolutely the best.
Highly recommend. Whenever we travel to Rome, we would book this hotel.

We booked this hotel well in advance of our trip to Rome and was so glad we did because it was full up in advance of our stay. I am not surprised, it's location is brilliant - right on the Piazza Barberini - 2 minute walk to the tube which can take you to all the key sights if you don't like walking. We love walking so walked everywhere which is very manageable in Rome. The only time we took the tube was to the Vatican. The hotel staff are excellent! Everyone you come into contact with are so friendly and helpful and professional. The welcome when we arrived was fabulous. Fabio made us feel like we were VIPs arriving. Daniele was so helpful recommending and booking restaurants for us and never failed to smile when we passed reception. All the staff are equally lovely but Fabio and Daniele were "stand out" members of the team.

The hotel is a real boutique gem. Small but beautifully appointed, well serviced throughout our 6 day stay and we had booked a room that provided a side view and piazza view which was lovely. The hotel windows are sound proofed so you don't hear any of the hustle and bustle below. The bed was so comfortable and spacious which I needed after long days out walking and sightseeing. The hotel is well located for a great range of restaurants and bars and also for shopping too. It is only a short walk to the Spanish Steps and the beautiful shopping quarter that follows. Also a 5 minute walk down to the Trevi Fountain area too to soak in the hustle and bustle down there.

Breakfast was very well organised. Not surprisingly given it is a small hotel they require you to book a table which we liked as it also guaranteed on days when we needed to be out and with a tour guide at a specific time that we didn't get held up. The food is lovely, the choice of extras good and the service very efficient and friendly. We also took time on a couple of evenings to enjoy the lounge area for an evening drink - again the bar staff were so friendly.
This hotel is a gem and we will definitely book again when we return to explore more of Rome.

Everything at hotel Barocco is high level. Staff at the reception desk, staff in the bar and breakfast area, every member of the cleaning team, everybody is extremely friendly and smiling. This was our second time staying at Hotel Barocco, and we were welcomed like members of the family. This hotel has great, quiet rooms, with large and high quality beds, and the shower (at least in our room) is heaven, especially after another long day in the eternal city. Metro station Barberini is opposite the hotel, and you are fairly close to the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish steps, and Villa Borghese. There is no doubt about it : we will definitely come back to Hotel Barocco, that's for sure !

It is a nice boutique hotel with excellent friendly and helpful staff. Very close to the metro, taxi and bus station. The check in and checkout was fast. The superior room was clean, had enough space, nicely decorated and quiet but the window of the room had an inner side view; the bathroom and the room smelled of mold and sewage that was not good. Wi-Fi and light in the room were good. The queen size bed was comfortable, but it may not fit well for the tall ones. The hotel only serves breakfast; it was not buffet and should be ordered from the menu; It was delicious with nice presentation (both hot and cold options were available). Room service was excellent; We asked for electric kettle and received a full tea service package that was remarkable. The AC was working fine. The hotel has a lift.

We had an overall pleasant stay at the Hotel Barocco. Being the #4 most popular hotel in Rome, we had high expectations.

The hotel looked like it was newly renovated. The interior decoration and walls were most attractive.

The breakfast presented a few Italian pastries in a non-buffet setting. They do allow you to request pastries you don't see. We prefer selecting breakfast from a well stocked buffet. We were disappointed there wasn't a more lavish selection of Italian pastries, which the Italians do so well.

The rooms were of moderate size for Rome standards. We did notice our bed was shorter than normal to conveniently fit in the room. You probably won't notice if you are under 70 inches tall.

Our view of Piazza Barberini was excellent with heavy windows for total peace and quiet.

We liked how the room had two closets and a desk for a laptop PC. Bathroom was ample.

The hotel staff were friendly and very accommodating.

Note the rooms carry different levies depending on the day of the week and overall demand for rooms.

The area is very crowded given the close proximity to Via Veneto, the Spanish Steps and particularly the Trevi Fountains.

All round lovely hotel. Welcoming and helpful staff. Clean and modern rooms. Excellent location. Quiet, can’t hear noise from outside or from other guests. Food and drinks good quality. The bar is simply perfect; we had a fruit punch and old fashioned, quiet and cosy. Can’t wait to come back.
