Já me hospedei várias vezes no Marcella Royal Rooftop Garden por sua localização na Via Flavia, "no centro do centro", e pela alta qualidade das instalações, das refeições e dos serviços prestados pelo pessoal simpático, eficiente e prestativo.
The location was very good for us, about 10 minutes walk from the airport bus stop at Termini, lots of good restaurants nearby and we walked to all the major attractions[ although some might be a bit far for those not used to walking].
The rooftop breakfast room and bar were amazing and as the weather was exceptional for the time of year we were able to enjoy an evening drink up there warmed by the gas heater.
The breakfast choice was good, coffee excellent and I lived the pancake making machine.
We were disappointed that there were no refreshments in the room, tea/coffee/water and the plastic tumblers in the bathroom and mini bar were horrible. Also we felt they were a bit mean with the toiletries,[one small body wash, one shampoo and no body lotion] and on one day these were not even replemished.
Overall I would give 4.5 if I could and we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
We booked a double superior room which was FAB I loved it, had our own balcony and room was recently renovated mood lighting in room, lovely buffet type breakfast every morning on the 7th floor, delicious and would set you up for the day!.
Cannot commend the staff in the Marcella Royal enough they are amazing, so friendly, helpful, informative, nothing is too much. Bar man on the rooftop bar was such a lovely man also, gorgeous to sit up here for a couple of drinks, worth the expensive prices.
All in all I would and will be reccomending this hotel to others and my clients as I work in a Travel Agency. Thank you for our lovely stay :) xxx
On arriving at the hotel we were greeted warmly by the lady on reception and her colleague Alessandro who indicated that our room was ready despite it being a little earlier than check in time. There was no drink offered but we did not say anything. We have to say that the only dissappointing feature of the stay was the room we were allocated. It was Room 630 which felt quite small had a shower actually by the bed and a small seperate room with the toilet, sink & bidet .... a really strange set up. We thought that perhaps we had been issued with the wrong room but when my wife called down to reception we were informed that it was a Prestige room which surprised us and no other room was offered. The shower leaked slightly ont the carpet when used and one of the side tables next to the bed has a broken glass top (although it was useable). Each early morning & evening you could also hear the scrapping of tables being moved on the lovely terrace above. There are no tea & coffee facilities in the room but a tray with a kettle, water & teas was provided when we requested (no milk but we bought some at a local supermarket). There is no iron either.
Despite the above we can say that all staff we encountered were friendly and the hotel ws spotlessly clean. A plentiful breakfast was served on the terrrace area which was well maintained with plants with a choice of covered or uncovered seating. There was also a very useful computer & printer facility that allowed people to print out tickets etc.
Apart from breakfast we did not eat at the hotel but there are several nice restaurants near the hotel and prices generally seemed very similar for them with a meal for 2 costing just over the 50 euros mark.
Not that centrally located but fine if you don't mind a bit of a walk and we were able to get to most places we wanted to.
The rooftop/ terrace restaurant offers amazing views over the city, providing a relaxing, informal place for breakfast, lunch and supper (we were staying B&B so latter two meals not included, but we ended up eating there a LOT anyway) with a variety of food, all simple and well done.
The rooms and public areas are kept to a very high standard, bedrooms and lobby had very good air com (there was a heat wave on).
The Marcella is located very conveniently for the main tourist sites, shopping and surrounded by other great restaurants as well, many with street dining.
All in all we had a very enjoyable stay and would be happy to return.
We were given a room on the 6th floor directly under the roof garden but it was extremely noisy and late at night and early morning was woke up by furniture scraping along the floor and other noise. The wonderful reception staff quickly moved us so no problem.
There are lots of lovely restaurants along the same road as the hotel so no need to venture out too far after a long days walking !!
Would defo recommend this hotel to anyone, every staff member was so friendly and helpful
