I was told that Rome is one of the most beautiful capitals in the world. They were right! I booked a one week stay at the Ambasciatori in Via Veneto, a 5 stars property in the heart of la dolce vita! Location: You are in front of the US embassy, 100 mt. far from the Underground station, the same building...

I was nervous because of some negative reviews, but I had a great experience. We booked a triple room. The room was large, even by American standards. There were 2 bathrooms - one with the toilet and the other with the shower. Both had sinks The heated towel racks actually worked. AC worked great and the room was very clean....

Dear Joe, I thank you very much for your feedback concerning your last experience at the Ambasciatori Palace in Rome. I am very pleased to read that you fully enjoyed your stay with us, the quality of the service and the room rather than our exclusive position in the middle of the famous Via Veneto. Concerning your compliments on the...

My wife and I stayed here for a week where I attended a meeting at the hotel. Our room was very large by European standards. We had a corner room with opening windows/doors on two sides. The bathroom was also large. We did have all the electricity in our room go off one night and I sleep with a CPAP,...

Quick note: I booked this holiday as a "secret location" with lastminute.com and probably wouldnt have booked if I had seen it first. Our arrival into Rome was amazing - our chaffeur driven Mercedes took us past all of the sites, given us a brief tour on our way to the hotel. Rome was magical at this point, constantly saying...

This is a beautiful hotel and the staff and service is wonderful. The bar is great and the service there is terrific. That's where the compliments stop. We stayed 2 nights and the bedroom was big and that's it. The mattress was hard as if you were sleeping on box springs. The toilet seat was not screwed on straight, slipping...

Booked this as a "secret 5 star hotel" deal on lastminute.com. As other reviewers have said, the location is fabulous, a lot of the attractions like Spanish steps, Trevi fountain, Pantheon, etc. are an easy walk away. The service was fine, especially the friendly and helpful concierge. We had a room on the second floor which was in some need...

This is definitely an above average European hotel. The room we had was amply large which we found to be uncommon for most hotels in Europe. Yes, it is next to the Hard Roch Cafe, but that turned out to be a non-factor. The Spanish Steps are basically right around the corner, and there were a number of very good...

We enjoyed out short stay at the Ambasciatori Palace Hotel on our last night in Rome. The room was clean with doors that opened to the street for fresh air which was nice. The furnishings are classic, older with wood paneling with a regal feel. The location was very good for exploring this area of Rome. The Front Desk and...

This is a fine tourist-class hotel. It was clean but there are no over the top amenities. It is located right next to the Hard Rock Cafe, which is not my style. But it is conveniently located and you can walk to the Spanish Steps easily from here. Everyone was very nice and spoke English. Breakfast was fine, but in...

Just back from rome and really loved this hotel. The room was lovely and clean - with balcony! The breakfast was perfect and both mornings we were out on the terrace. Large choice including a wellness corner (prosseco for those needing the hair of the dog!) and lovely choice of fruit, meats, cheeses, hot foods, patiseries etc. The bedroom was...

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Five-star luxury for the Ambasciatori Palace in via Vittorio Veneto, an elegant window facing the Eternal City. In an enviable location, the hotel blends the magic of traditional hospitality with contemporary elegance. Known as 'Ambassadors' Palace', it was originally built in 1903 and it has been the location of international affairs between diplomats from the nearby Embassies and a witness to the excitement of the mundane 'Dolce Vita'. The restoration was made according to the original structure of the environment, and repeating and interpreting the existing decorations: the Brazilian granite columns and the intricate wrought-iron balustrade of the grand staircase, the marble floors and the polychromatic mosaic and the pleasant succession of stuccoes, the Venetian chandeliers and skylights. The welcoming and aristocratic atmosphere of the Ambasciatori Palace combines with exclusive services provided and a careful attention to technology and comfort. The 152 rooms are bright, spacious and finely furnished, decorated in soft colors and aristocratic textures. The new Ambassador Rooms are equipped with TouchControl devices to adjust temperature and lighting and MediaHub to connect the HD screen to the TV audio/video devices. Guests can use the Fitness Center, dine at the refined and elegant restaurant 'La Terrazza', renowned for its culinary fame since the 1920's, the Embassy Bar and Bistro corner and complimentary Wi-Fi is available in all the rooms and public areas. The privileged position of the Ambasciatori Palace, in the business district, makes the Hotel the ideal location for business trips, meetings , exhibitions , banquets and vernissage. The elegant business center includes several multipurpose rooms of different sizes, some with natural light and overlooking via Veneto. The main hall is housed in the ballroom. The Ambasciatori Palace is the ideal place for an unforgettable stay among the most legendary historical-artistic monuments and the elegant shopping streets of Rome. A few steps from the Metropolitana Train (stop Barberini) allows a pleasant walk to the Fontana di Trevi, Piazza di Spagna, Piazza Navona and the main railway Station Termini. ... more   less
