Stayed here Nov/Dec 2016. Had a triple room. The space was good. I was on the third bed, which was really just a couch...and it was hard. I had back problems all week as a result. Otherwise, room was a good size. We were on the first floor and the first night we encountered extreme noise-from the street, from the...

Room was typically European size but lively. American hairdryers blew the electric. Actually one hairdryer burned out. Staff was very nice and helpful especially given our circumstances where one of our friends had to be hospitalized. They did everything they could to ease a very stressful situation from getting cabs at weird times and feeding us often in the middle...

Good location, just a short walk to metro. The hotel calls itself a five star place, and it might have been one before, but nowadays it's quite shabby and worn out. The breakfast could be a bit better: lots of cakes, but not very many healthier choises. The hotel needs a bit renovation, but the staff is very friendly and...

We stayed two nights post cruise with Cunard. Staff welcoming and helpful, our room was spacious, as was the bathroom...everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was served downstairs, lots of choice, pleasant waiters and a cheerful atmosphere....good location and proximity to all the sights and transport....one negative criticism, the plumbing is a bit noisy, a bath run upstairs at 5.30am was...

Ok, to be honest, this is the only the third 5 star hotel I've stayed at. It is the best 5 star hotel I've stayed at. Location is the best. The staff is by far the most friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful, spacious and comfortable. The breakfast that was included was fantastic.

Stayed two nights post cruise. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel spotlessly clean. Bedroom large and bathroom massive with good quality towels and toiletries. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh with lots of choice. Bar service excellent, food good. Hotel was in a good location to walk around this beautiful city. Special thanks to Bar Staff and Concierge.

A well priced hotel in a city of massive selection. There are many hotels in this street, via Veneto, but its really well located. we arrived 10 days before checking into the hotel and they allowed us to leave large bags here for the duration. If travelling to places like Venice, Florence, Cortona, etc you don't want lots of suitcases....

Stayed here for two nights after a cruise. Location fabulous. We walked literally everywhere. So close to everything. The lobby and breakfast rooms lovely. It was large, quiet located on backside, the bathroom terrific, bed comfy....

We stayed at this hotel as a cruise add-on with Windstar. Never again. The rooms set aside for the cruise line are a dump. Beaten up, mismatched furniture in a room so small that you couldn't move around the room. Scratched walls badly need of paint. The night tables were so rickety that they swayed in the breeze. We seriously...

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Five-star luxury for the Ambasciatori Palace in via Vittorio Veneto, an elegant window facing the Eternal City. In an enviable location, the hotel blends the magic of traditional hospitality with contemporary elegance. Known as 'Ambassadors' Palace', it was originally built in 1903 and it has been the location of international affairs between diplomats from the nearby Embassies and a witness to the excitement of the mundane 'Dolce Vita'. The restoration was made according to the original structure of the environment, and repeating and interpreting the existing decorations: the Brazilian granite columns and the intricate wrought-iron balustrade of the grand staircase, the marble floors and the polychromatic mosaic and the pleasant succession of stuccoes, the Venetian chandeliers and skylights. The welcoming and aristocratic atmosphere of the Ambasciatori Palace combines with exclusive services provided and a careful attention to technology and comfort. The 152 rooms are bright, spacious and finely furnished, decorated in soft colors and aristocratic textures. The new Ambassador Rooms are equipped with TouchControl devices to adjust temperature and lighting and MediaHub to connect the HD screen to the TV audio/video devices. Guests can use the Fitness Center, dine at the refined and elegant restaurant 'La Terrazza', renowned for its culinary fame since the 1920's, the Embassy Bar and Bistro corner and complimentary Wi-Fi is available in all the rooms and public areas. The privileged position of the Ambasciatori Palace, in the business district, makes the Hotel the ideal location for business trips, meetings , exhibitions , banquets and vernissage. The elegant business center includes several multipurpose rooms of different sizes, some with natural light and overlooking via Veneto. The main hall is housed in the ballroom. The Ambasciatori Palace is the ideal place for an unforgettable stay among the most legendary historical-artistic monuments and the elegant shopping streets of Rome. A few steps from the Metropolitana Train (stop Barberini) allows a pleasant walk to the Fontana di Trevi, Piazza di Spagna, Piazza Navona and the main railway Station Termini. ... more   less
