This hotel is located about a 10 minute walk from the Termini Station. The staff was nice and helpful. The rooms were older and small, but what you would expect for this price point. The neighborhood was average. The breakfast buffet was nothing special, but certainly had enough choices. It didn't open until 8 am, which was a problem on...

Dear Guest, we have just read your review on tripadvisor and we regret that we were not up to his expectations. We didn't understand this phrase: "It didn't open until 8 am, which was a problem on days we left earlier to go on tours. " Our breakfast is served from 7 am to 10 am so what do you...

Great friendly stuff always ready to help. Very comfy bed and spotless bathroom, good breakfast and varied. As for location it is great close to train station and to airport shuttle services. Most of the key historical sites are within walking distance. Our room was on the facade and although there are some restaurants close by it was still a...

Out of 3 hotels we stayed in during a 9-day visit to Italy, this hotel rates at the bottom. We stayed in Room 601, which was very cramped, no place to put luggage, and wi-if that worked less than 50% of the time. But our chief complaint was the shower, which is peculiarly designed to leak water all over the...

Dear Guest, We have read your review on trip advisor and we do apologies if our hotel didn' meet your expectations. About the bottle of wine and room with terrace that some people of your group have had, we would like to explain that usually we received from the company that book the rooms for you some special request like...

I took my wife on a surprise break to celebrate her 70th Birthday and we spent 3nights at The Villafranca. It is conveniently situated just a few minutes walk from the main Termini where there is also a Big Bus pick up point for their excellent open top hop on hop off tours. The Receptionist was excellent and we were...

Dear Guest, thank you so much for choosing our hotel and for writing this review on trip advisor. We would like to answer you about the breakfast service. Breakfast is served from 7 am to 10.00 am; you're probably come down to the closing time and for that reason had not been replaced the buffet. We guarantee we're going to...

Stayed here for a couple of days in April 17. The rooms are well decorated and very clean. The service offered was fantastic. Breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend this hotel even for its location near Castro Pretorio metro stop.

Clean. Excellent front desk. Location is a block from Metro (Castro Pretorio) and about 5 blocks from the Train Station (Terminus). But, they need a new hot water heater. After 6 a.m., the shower starts getting short of hot water, until none by 7 a.m. Our room was amazingly small, but we were only sleeping there anyway. There is a...

Spent four nights here. The staff was very helpful, called us a taxi and was able to make change and offer us advice on our travels. The room is small as most in Italy but well laid out with a closet. The bathroom was clean and adequate. Has a nice lobby for hanging out in and a small bar and...

Great staff !!! Excellent customer service !!! Great location !!! Very accommodating front desk , walking distance to central train station . Tiny elevator but I guess that's common in Italy. Room with romantic view. Very happy with the experience.

We stayed here on a group trip, so the location was picked for us. The location was absolutely perfect, near the train station and near the metro... easy to hop on off both of those. It was clean and surprisingly spacious for Rome. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. The breakfast was 'okay' not the best but decent.

A very nice little hotel. The room was relatively large and very comfortable, though the bed was low to the floor and somewhat difficult to get out of. The only really disappointing thing was that the hotel has no restaurant. The breakfast provided was very good, with a good variety of foods and drinks. The outstanding feature was the staff:...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
