We stayed for 4 nights and had a great time. Hotel is very close to train station. We walked everywhere and only needed the metro for a station close to the Vatican. Room is very clean and a really comfortable bed. 24 hour reception. Hotel is close to some great restaurants for evening meals.

We stayed at this hotel before going on a cruise. The hotel is quaint and compact but comfortable. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very comprehensive. The hotel is very close to Santa Maria Maggiore which makes it easy to find. It is also very close to the Colosseum and Termini Station. Excellent value for...

Visited for the rugby. Staff very pleasant. Quick check in at 10pm. Rooms are great for what we wanted as a base for 4 nights. Enough room for everything. Bathroom is compact but does the job. Breakfast on top floor.. cereals/juices/yoghurts/pastries/boiled eggs/cold meats/rolls.. plenty to fill up on. Loads of restaurants/shops in area. Would def stay here again.. thank you.

The hotel is a great affordable, convenient, and comfortable place to stay, in a very accessible neighborhood for public transit and sights in Rome. Simple, yet hearty, breakfast provided, and a good wifi signal.

I have gone in many hotels in the center of Rome and I have to express that Doria hotel is perfect for 3* hotel. It is near Termini, 5-7 min on foot from the metro, in front of one of the most significant churches in Rome, Santa Maria Maggiore. The stuff was very polite, the wifi was good, the breakfast...

I stayed here with my sister for two nights on a short trip. The people who worked there were very nice and helpful. Our room was two single beds on the first floor, which I was worried about because I am a light sleeper, but you could barely hear any noise and the room was completely dark when the windows...

We stayed here for four nights and used it as our base for exploring the city. It's in a nice neighborhood with lots of restaurants and sights within walking distance. It was clean and had a friendly staff, and a decent, if not exciting breakfast. It may have the world's smallest elevator so be prepared to hoof it up to...

We booked this hotel last minute because we had been let down for our hotel room with lowcostholidays. This is a pretty central hotel not far from the Colleseum and Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica. Rooms are pretty small and ours had the smallest shower known to man. Despite this we had a lovely stay for the weekend! The staff are...

Second time staying at the Doria hotel. It's not my usual choice of hotel, but as a good budget base, this one has it's charms. It's close to the Termini station, so getting to the hotel is super easy. Yep - it's got a tiny lift for one person - but this is Rome, not Las Vegas, so take it...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
