The stay was good. But still the quality of breakfast should be improved as it is part of the package and the free wifi can be provided for what they are charging for the rooms. Also the room service wasnt available for 24 hours.

I've stayed in worse. I've stayed in better. Depends what you want and what you're prepared to pay basically. I stayed here for a week. Rome was the first leg of my tour of Italy and I took a chance on booking here, basing it on its closeness to the train station given I was traveling onwards by rail and... More

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in November 2014 while doing the tourist thing and visiting the sites in Rome. The hotel is about a block away from the main Termini station and is about a block and a half from the bus terminus. It is very convienent to get to from Rome airport as there is a... More

I had a three night stay in Hotel Planet, Rome. It is near to Roma Termini but it is a terrible hotel to stay. there was so much smell, bed was damp and curtains were so dirty. The pictures and the reviews given by the hotel website and bookings.com does not portray the real terrible condition of this hotel. I... More

We were originally booked in one of the associated hotels a street away S.Blu hotel. Upon arrival the receptionist who appeared angry about something started shouting at someone on the phone(this was a oriental lady) she then told us we would be staying at the planet hotel. We followed here. She was still as grumpy as ever. She directed us... More

Avoid! Do not be deceived by their lovely photos on the website. It appears that some people have paid a lot more than others depending on where you booked it. If you are going to Rome for the experience and culture do not stay in this hotel. Hotel was very noisy and all conversations could be heard. The smell of... More

This hotel was basically across the street from the train station and had free wifi. The bathroom was clean enough and I think we even had a little French Balcony. For what we paid our expectaions were not the Ritz. The cost was 44 Euro a night. Yes, 44 Euro! We booked via Venere.com. Staff was very nice. The beds... More

We had low expectations when coming to this hotel as we had read the reviews but nothing could prepare us for what we were put into. we arrived at the hotel and had to pay 'a little extra' for and extra bed in the room. This 'little extra' turned out to be another 120 euros on top of the 117... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

“I was in two rooms due to a booking issue: My room on the 5th floor was a little larger than on the 2nd floor, both were fine though and windows to the back of the building so little/no noise.”
