This was a change made by us from another hotel in the vicinity. The hotel was very well located, very clean interiors, friendly staff and good ambiance. The walking convenience to all the major areas and tourist buses made it specially interesting We liked the overall experience and its value for money.

Checkin was fast and friendly. Was given room even though I arrived a few hours before checkin time. Had ordered a SGL room but was given a double. Room was in good condition but farily small. Location of the hotel is very good as it is walking distance to main train station and a few of the main sights. WIFI...

Hotel is closer to the Castro Pretorio metro (Line B) than to the Termini train station/metro which takes several more blocks to walk. Located in a quiet neighborhood, and safe walking even at night. Many area restaurants, but we did not see any groceries near the hotel. Room was small for two people, but clean. Bathroom was standard size and...

A 4 night city break, first time visitors to Rome. The hotel is in a good location, two stops from the Coliseum, 6 or so from the Vatican. 20 mins walk from the train at Termini station (10 mins from ticket office) and 5 mins from the Castro Pretorio. It is in a quiet area close to many embassies, there...

This is a very good hotel in almost every respect. The Art Deco Style is wonderful and our room was very good indeed with an extremely comfortable bed. There was a wide choice of food at the breakfast buffet and the waiting staff were attentive and helpful. One small observation is that we found the reception staff somewhat indifferent. They...

This hotel is a good option for the area, which is a lively area to stay in surrounded by embassies. It is close to Termini, between 5 & 7 minutes walk. Get a Roma pass if sightseeing and utilise the metro. We chose this hotel for our Rome stay as we are tired of corporate 4 stars, and this hotel...

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights mid February and was very pleased with our choice. We arrived late at night (1 am) but had notified the hotel in advance and had received comfirmation that there would be no problems checking in. All went smoothly. We had a double room which was clean and comfortable with ample storage space. The...

Although located close to Termini, this hotel is in a very nice and safe area, surrounded by embassy buildings. It's close to two metro stations, both easily reachable on foot. Hotel is very clean, with fantastic Art Deco interior, bringing you back to 1920s. Rooms have good sound protection, although more daily light would be needed. Breakfast is OK, but...

I tend to approach all hotels with misgivings, but the Artdeco turned out to be a very good choice. The area is pleasant, situated close to villas/embassies with gardens, so there are plenty of trees, and I could hear parrots when I had the window open. It's about a ten minute walk from Termini, and close to some useful downtown...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
