My mother and I booked a room here, not expecting much. We were pleasantly surprised. The owner, Emma, was very nice and helpful. She helped us plan out our entire trip and gave us many helpful tips. She was fluent in English, Italian, and Mandarin. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. There was no real differences between this and...

Hard to find the entrance. Rooms are at 1st floor. The building has an elevator from early 1900s, better leave it just for the luggage. Sheets and towels were smelling cigarette smoke. The man at reception desk barely understands english. Breakfast was poor. I found a contact lens stuck on the window shutter...

I stayed at the innStation for a night. The rooms are fine to sleep and the place is clean and secure, you get what you pay for. The hosts were nice to us and flexible. It is very close to the Termini station but in the wrong side of it especially via Rattazzi. The west side of the station is...

Room: Small but adequate, double room, great bed, low to the ground. Room and bed made and cleaned daily, but no fresh towels (we stayed for 5 nights). Small Storage hot water in the room, which means showers needed to be thought about but good pressure. Air conditioner has no remote, and really struggled the whole time. Location: Excellent, close...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
