I was excited to visit Rome. We walked through the doors very late and were greeted by the two employees laughing and ignoring us the entire time. They watched us struggle in with our suitcases while laughing. It was to the point where they acknowledged our presence, but were still laughing. When they finally turned to check us in, they...

We arrived at the hotel after midnight and we got a room on the 4th floor which only had a loft window. The Air con doesn't operate in the winter months and being on the top floor the room was incredibly hot! When I asked to switch rooms the staff just persuaded me to open the window (remote controlled) which...

We decided to return again this year to use the Metropolis Hotel as our base for the 6 Nations Rugby - this time Italy vs Ireland. The quality of the hotel food and rooms haven't changed, they are as good as they were last year, although the air conditioning in our room did not appear to be working and we...

Stayed here with friends when we were in Rome to see the 6 Nations Italy v Ireland. Hotel very clean and rooms functional. Good location to walk around some wonderful sights and close enough to wander up to the Stadio Olimpico for the game. Easy walking to Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo. Caught a bus tour to the Coloseum and walked...

The hotel is in a great location for those wishing to have a good walk to attractions or for local transport. We paid 50 euros for a 'private' tour of the Vatican etc. and although expensive, very worth it - no queues and Cesare from Italywithus.com had a fabulous voice and an immense knowledge. From our hotel we could walk...

We visited the hotel primarily to watch Italy v Wales in the 6 Nations but also to visit the sights of Rome. The hotel was about 10 minutes from the Vatican and 30 minutes from the Stadio Olimpico and a short walk to both metro and tram stops so was ideal for our purposes. From the time of our arrival...

On arrival hotel staff were very friendly, room was lovely and comfortable however, only a sheet no duvet, and no tea/coffee making facilities in the room which you would expect. At night it was very hot and it didn't appear that you could turn the heating off. We tried! So we had the window open, Rome traffic is noisy! Breakfast...

We were very pleased that Hotel Metropolis offered a slightly larger room with a window for us for our second and third night. Breakfast was ok but the coffee? The location was great, in a nice neighbourhood, close to Lepanto Metro and a handful of good restaurants 5-10 minutes walk away, including La Pratolina, L'aquila del oro, and Bella Napoli....
