Came in late on the train but still before the check in time and the owner called at least 5 times impatiently asking where we were. Then, he wanted to charge $10 a night to unfold the futon for us to sleep on, even though we had rented a room with two beds and there was only one in there....

The place is really close to a metro station or if you want in 10/15 minutes by walk you could be at the main train station when you can find metros, trains, busses, shuttle buses to the airport and everything. The room was really nice and clean, comfortable and really quite in a very nice and old building, with elevator....

Pro: Very good quality, friendly hosts, affordable prices, and clean fully equipped rooms. I think no need more for a romantic weekend. Francesco is a very kind host, helped a lot :) Breakfast included, but only Italian style (1 croissant & cafe). If u want continental breakfast need to pay 5€/day (not a problem, but good to know :) )

Very convenient location, the metro is right next to it, even though I did everything on foot because it's fun! The room is very clean, and you'll be welcomed by the most friendly staff who knows how to get around and what places you should see. (Francesco is awesome!) I have absolutely no negative comments on this place! (Pol-pe-tte)

First, because this is why it's so sure that we're going to come back, something about the owner: Daniele, a tipical Italian man, welcomes you, gives you advice, friendly all around. You directly feel a family atmosphere, that maybe you don't even expect in the center of a big capital city. Couldn't be any better! Like i just said. It's...

Francesco was the best. His tips and annotations on the map he gave us really helped us plan our trip and he also gave us good tips on restaurants and when and how to see the Pope, which was by far our favorite experience in Rome. We also made a mistake with planning our next trip to Florence and Francesco...

The service of the host Francesco was great. I reserved through the web page and he sent me his whatsapp number, so we were in constant communication even before I arrived. My plan was delay so he waited for us and help us with the luggage. The room is simple but comfortable, I reserved a triple and it has two...

Clean and tidy place to stay. Close to the City centre and metro (5 mins to Manzoni station). Very friendly host (available almost all the time). Helped me with planning my trip. Booked via Airbnb. No problems at all.

Very good bed and breakfast in a very good price. We stayed there for only one night because we had to catch a train the next day. The room was very clean and nice with a big bathroom and it had everything we wanted. The metro stop is just around the corner and you can find many cafes and supermarkets...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
