I've stayed in a lot of small hotels throughout Europe and this is one of the best experiences I've had. I'm in the single room right now, near the end of a 12 night stay, and I've enjoyed every aspect of my time here: the staff are exceptional, you're served breakfast in bed, the security is excellent, bed is comfortable,...

When you spend just over £60 for a Rome hotel for one night you don't expect much. In this case we were wrong. Excellent location 5 mins from the railway station and 15 from the Colosseum. Pleasant individually designed and decorated room with a really good sized shower room and lots of hot water. Excellent Wifi signal as well. Our...

I have my luggage stuck at the transit airport and only arrive the next day. I told this to the staff (Simone) and she took this in her own hand by calling the airport and chasing up the airlines to make sure my luggage arrive on the next day. I was out and about exploring the city of Rome and...

Good location. Very easy to reach both train and metro stations. About the service, I met both the coldest guy and the warmest one - making it average I think. Very limited breakfast served in the room. There is an extra payment for leaving luggage after check out! The bed is ok but we cramped in the shower. Fortunately, there...

The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was served to your room, just book the evening before. Great location,Termini station is 5mins away and several attractions are within easy walking distance. Surrounded by restaurants so easy to find somewhere to eat in the evenings. Excellent price. Had everything we needed.

My wife, two kids and myself spent 4 nights in the hotel, 5th floor which has a small lift. The staff Cristino and Francesco are very friendly and helpful and Cristino gave help with some sightseeing and an early breakfast snack at 6am as we had an early tour at the Vatican museum. The breakfast is simple brought to your...

Great location, right across the street from the metro. Basic, small room with exceptional bathroom. Breakfast delivered to the room in the morning (also the basics, coffee and croissants). Only one employee that speaks fluent english, but otherwise an excellent and pleasant experience.

The hotel was basic, the bathroom particularly was extremely small and the sink in the bedroom rather than bathroom. The bed was large and comfortable but there was little room to move with both of us in the room. The breakfast was also basic and delivered to the room. We had no issues using the lift (we were on the...

We got a brilliant deal on this hotel last July (2016) for a short break, it worked out around £20 per person. The hotel is in a perfect position, right next to the rail station, all the sights are walkable but if you don't fancy the heat of the city, the tubes are really easy to use and stops are...

We have recently come back from a 7 night stay at this hotel and had a fantastic experience. The hotel is located close to the station and is within walking distance of all the attractions. Breakfast is served to your room at a time you specify daily and is a great way to start the day. The family room we...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
