During November I stayed here for 9 days, 9 days TOO long. The hotel is located within a 3-4 minute leisurely walk with luggage from the Termini Train Station so DONT take a cab. It will cost you about 10 Euros for nothing. The building is shared by several small hotels. Hotel Marcantonio's lobby is located on the 5th floor...

The hotel has good location (just about 200 m from Termini railway station and metro). In that building there are few other hotels. It is difficult to understand why the reception is at 5th floor while the rooms in the first floor. Hotel offers reasonable size rooms with bathroom equipped with hear dryer and basic amenities. Unfortunately, you cannot on...

The hotel was not what we expected, the hotel is in a building with several different hotels on each floor. There was no dining room but a very basic breakfast was delivered to your room in the morning, quite strange. The room was small and basic although clean but could do with a makeover. Perfect if you are a student or on...

We are just back from Rome where we spent 4 lovely days.We stayed at Marcantonio where we enjoyed the advice given by Nicola who is such a precious help as for the visits. Very warm welcome from all the staff even at an early hour...as our plane had 2.30 hours delay, we got at the hotel at 1.00 AM. Thanks...

We stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel is in a building with a different hotels on each floor which is bizarre. This hotels reception is on the fifth floor and we got a room on the 1st floor. The room was clean and the size was ok but the decoration was outdated and the electrical equipment temperamental - the...

Short walk from the termini and easy to find so perfect for I depend travellers who want to save their cash for the sights and delights of Rome. Can walk everywhere (the colosseum is only 15 minutes by foot) or take the metro at the end of the street. Located on the fifth floor though there is an elevator which...

We were asked how late we would arrive, since the owner had to open the front door for us. Not easy to see the small sign! He helped us and gave us advice on where to go, which was nice. The room itself looked okay, the lighting could be more cosy, the bedlinnen were a bit shabby. Apparently they don't...

We booked this hotel as it was cheap and close to the train station. Our room no. 18 was very small and we struggled to put our 2 suitcases on the floor. It was quite claustrophobic but did have a window we could open thankfully. The bathroom was a good size but had one of those horrible hose hairdryers that...

The hotel was a bit difficult to find at first as it's amongst different hotels on each floor of a huge building. It's very close to the station and a short walk to the Colosseum. I would rate this hotel higher as the rooms were nice with a modern and clean bathroom, however, the main part of the hotel (reception...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
