#292 of 4,434 B&Bs / Inns in Rome
The b&b is located between Ciampino low cost airport and Termini railway station and it's near (100 mt) from the underground station Porta Furba (line A). We are the perfect solution for a low cost vacation in Rome an we also are eco and bike friendly. The area is safe and cheap, you will find real roman people talking in bars and on the street here! To reach the city centre is really easy and fast by subway, for example to reach Vatican Museums is only 18 minutes. The B&B is made up by two apartments in the same building and can accomodate up to 18 people in 6 rooms. We have 2 twin rooms with bunk beds and shared bathroom, all the other rooms have private bathrooms (3 en suite one external). There is a self catering kitchen in one of the two apartments and a couple of net books for guest's free use. We are in agreement with a restaurant with cheap menues, a garage and a bycicle and electric scooter rent. From the b&b it is possible to rent a bycicle and cycle in the regional park of Appia Antica, along the old Appian way. The bycicle ride we suggest to do pass only in parks and it is really safe. We will give you the keys of the apartment, a map of the area and a map of city centre at your arrive. There is a luggages storage with keys for guest's free use.

Beautiful place to stay, clean kept air b&b which looks like a hotel. Free & fast wifi, aircond included, very safe place with lots of locks. Easy to transit to city centre as it's near the train station. Owner has been very helpful with suggesting places & could speak very well english. There are also good ratings restaurant within a few mins walking distance. Only downside, is the view out of the room is just facing other apartment.

We stayed two days here for visiting Rome and were very positive surprised about the kind owner, the perfect location and the room itself with a small Balconary. The hotel uses two appartments in an appartment house from the 50ties. It is relative quiet considering the location in the busy town. For sure the appartment itself is not sound proof as usual in Italy. The owner is very engaged and gives you a good guidance if you like, even about the closer neighborship. Breakfast is self serving and a bit simple but fully fine and nothing to complain. Beds were fully OK, room was always clean - 5 of 5 points. We will definitelly visit it again on the next trip.

This place was so good. Our room was perfect and we couldn't have asked for more. Right next to the station for trips into central Rome but also in a great local community with shops and restaurants. Paolo is such a nice host and was full of advise for a good stay with recommendations for the best places to visit and eat. We will definitely return. There is no need to spend lots of money on expensive hotels when you have Martini Bed to stay at. Thanks Paolo from Gary and Caroline.

Martini Bed was fantastic! The owner was very kind. He gave excellent advice and explained the living situation well. He even gave us a bottle of wine when we arrived! The room was comfortable and spacious, with a bunk bed, a single bed, and a queen sized bed. There was also a large TV in our room. The room had great closet space, and air conditioning. The wifi worked wonderfully throughout the apartment. The balcony overlooked the courtyard and the street below. The bathroom was clean, and soap and shampoo were provided, along with a set of towels for each person. Additionally, every morning he would come by and make the beds and straighten the room and bathroom! The kitchen was well stocked, with cookies, biscotti, coffee, milk, juice, cocoa, yogurt, cereal, and pound cakes all available to eat anytime. A full communal kitchen is available for cooking yourself. Each room had its own section in the refrigerator and pantry to store food. It is located in a safe building in a working- class neighborhood. I felt safe even when walking at night. There are restaurants, shops, a great supermarket and a farmer's market in the neighborhood. It is just 3 blocks from the metro station, and 15-20 min by metro to most attractions. It's a bit out of the tourist district, but I prefer being in the real city. I would highly recommend Martini Bed!

Ideal BnB for visiting Rome independantly on a budget. 5 mins to Metro then 15-30 mins to town centre and main tourist areas. Local area is not appealing but its safe people are friendly there are some handy grocery/fruit etc shops, restaurants and cafes. Owner manager Paulo is fantastic he made us very welcome, helped us sort out our itineray and made reservations for us. BnB is simple, very clean, breakfast (24hrs) is coffee and cake etc, kitchen is fully fitted for snacks or simple cooking and a laundry service is available. Some, most I think, have private bathrooms others are shared. Recommend to speak to Paulo re arrival from airport and directions etc especially if arriving late and be very very careful for pickpockets in the city. We caught one with her hand in our bag fortunately we were not robbed, think about a under clothing wallet.

Dear Ian and Martha, Thank you for your review, it was so nice to host you and I'm really happy that my tips were helpful to discover Rome! I'm also happy for having sensitized you about pickpockers, it seems that it worked! Unfortunately Rome (as every big city I think) has many pickpockers especially on public means and in crowdy places. Here at Martini Bed we always alert people about them and we provide a safe box in each room to avoid our guests hanging around with too much money. A big hug from Rome, hope to see you again take care Paolo
