The hostel is well located - about 15 mins from the Termini station and about 5 mins from the Manzoni metro station. There is a tram stop at the Manzoni station which takes you to Colosseum. There is also a super market nearby for groceries. We had a private room in the basement of the 'Secret Garden' which is another...

My first thought on trudging my way from Termini station, was that Ciak is a lot farther away than it looks on the map! But a friendly welcome made me glad I chose this hostel. It's fairly small, maybe a little snug at times, but clean and comfortable. The breakfast is basic, but that is typical of Rome anyhow. Nice...

Near by Trimini station, down town. Good transportation. Close to metro, tram or bus station. There is a supermarket near by. Staff is very kind and friendly. Nice and clean room (i took room for 4 female). Breakfast is not good. I don't know if it's better than nothing. But there are small kitchen so you can cook by yourself...

Staff are friendly and efficient if you need something but otherwise keep to themselves. Bathroom was not well ventilated so a bit mouldy but otherwise clean, I did have to ask for toilet paper once, though it was Sunday and apparently housekeeping doesn't happen on Sundays. Room was clean though a bit dusty under beds etc. Mattresses average. Window was...

Our room was in the basement of the Secret Garden. It was not really clear at the booking, that we would not stay in the Hostel, but in its brunch. Anyway, they have beautiful images on their website... which are not true. How dare they rent that room, we stayed in? It could be a storage room, but not a...

I went to Rome during the Easter weekend this year. Fortunately I stayed at Ciak Hostel. Very nicely located, steps away from the metro station, very near to the tramway. One could easily reach Collosseum by tram T2 or walk.

there are few reasons why I rated this hostel negatively: 1. room 2 is on the noisy part of the street. there are condensation and mould around the window and it stinks around that area. it took me averagely 45 minutes to fall asleep because of the traffic coming from the street. 2. the english "lady" is trying to be...

Wasn't the nicest hotel and we stayed in the basement room of one of the buildings, the bathroom had a funny smell and the rooms were quite small. The privates are also located in a seperate building to the main part of the hostel, so there also weren't many chances to mingle with other backpackers. The breakfast is also quite...

Great staff, great location near Termini, Metro, and the Colosseum. Hot showers worked great and beds were comfortable. WIFI was available but kept having problems. I would definitely recommend this place to other travelers

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
