The hotel was absolutely delightful and full of so much character and the room was very small to accommodate three people but we managed. The rooms were decorated with such classical taste, we couldn't believe how affordable the hotel was! The cleanliness of the room was first class and the facilities were average. While using the shower we had to...

Booked through LastMinute.com (This is one of the '4*' secret hotels), the property is located about 5 mins walk from the closest metro but circa 20 minute walk from the Colosseum. This hotel in no shape or form is a 4 star. The rooms are tired and basic at best. There is no a/c in the rooms as advertised, our...

We were booked into this hotel by the agency arranging our Mediterranean cruise; departing from Civitavecchia the following day. The hotel is in a less than salubrious quarter of Rome. Simple in the extreme, clean, unimposing with an annex adjoining, We arrived late at night, no food or drink available and had to leave the hotel and go next door...

We stayed here for 4nights. It is a lovely friendly place with helpful staff. Good clean accommodation and a basic continental breakfast served daily. Location wise it's handy for the termini and metro. There are a few good reasonably priced restaurants locally. The hotel recommended a place around the corner and we ate there twice as the food was great,...

Visited Rome with friends for a 4 day sightseeing & rugby trip. Best Roma Hotel was booked as part of a package. The hotel is on a relatively busy road with trams & traffic passing by. So if you are not used to the sounds of the city then ask for a quiet room at the rear of the building....

A basic hotel but clean and very convenient. Very good value for money. Clean and friendly. Breakfast again was basic choice but fine. We walked everywhere we wanted to see from the hotel. Wonderful city. Great food. A very good experience.

We recently returned from our 4 day midweek break in Rome, the hotel is basic and needs a bit of tlc and redecorating but it was quite sufficient for what we wanted as we were sight seeing so didn't spend much time there really, it had shower, hairdryer,tv etc our only gripe was it had no bar or restaurant of...

The hotel was definitely not 4 star. Breakfast was poor,no fresh fruit only tinned. There were fresh croissants and rolls but in general it felt like a pre packaged breakfast. The bed was comfortable although it took up most of the room space. The hotel was very clean. The location was on the tram route to the city and convenient to the...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
