The hotel was definitely not 4 star. Breakfast was poor,no fresh fruit only tinned. There were fresh croissants and rolls but in general it felt like a pre packaged breakfast. The bed was comfortable although it took up most of the room space. The hotel was very clean. The location was on the tram route to the city and convenient to the... More

Terrible experience. On arrival at Best Roma the receptionist first took our passports, then explain how to visit the city and only when I asked him that I want to see the room already booked and paid for three nights, he told us that the room is not ready due to electrical problems, that cannot be solved in one day and... The hotel was actually very nice for the price, and our particular room was great (302). A bit far from the historic center, but that is as advertised. The staff was excellent and very friendly and accommodating. As stated all over here, the breakfast was the worst ever. Crowded, cramped, and very poor/minimal options. I don't want to give the... We booked a 4 night stay here in July 2016. We paid about £220 each including flights. On arrival we were a little disappointed with the size of the room. We booked a superior room. The only thing superior about it was the size of the bed. Unfortunately, the room was not proportionally larger and therefore, access around the bed... More

Hotel is a 10€ taxi trip in to the centre of Rome. Great base. Very clean. Friendly and helpful service. Breakfast was ok - standard continental. Bathroom spacious and clean. Nice courtyard area outside for evening wine!

We stayed here for 3 nights in September 2016.. Hotel was clean. The room we stayed in was very small. The shower wasn't great, it was very clogged up with lime scale and was cold on a few occasions.. Breakfast was very poor, bread was dry and we noticed the juice and other items were left out all night -... More

Guy in the front desk unfriendly unhelpful and very disrespectful! Had an issue with my reservation and he didn't help barely speak english even when the hotel is 4 stars till today I don't know how! The rooms are too small AC didn't work and the hotel doesn't have elevators so you have to take the stairs carrying your luggage!

A room not big enough to swing a cat, Indian owned hotel with no Italians in sight and you have to walk past immigrants sleeping in doorways and graffiti to get back to it at night. My daughter and I felt quite threatened on two occasions. Uncomfortable beds with rocks as pillows! Do it yourself service at breakfast with a... More

A reasonably priced hotel in a location close to the main terminus. The area around could do with a clean up but we didn't feel like there was any danger just rubbish lying around. The hotel itself was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The room itself was small compared to rooms in American hotels but average compared to... More

This is a nice hotel in a fairly good location in Rome, the room was nice the only down side I would say would be that there is no coffee and tea facilities within the room. The breakfast was nice and the dining area is nice. For the price we paid for 6 nights was definitely worth it.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
