The rooms here are comfortable and the stay was nice and quiet! It's not like your typical hostel there are no common rooms and I don't think we saw another person the whole time we stayed, it's more an apartment. Location is good, 15 minute walk to the colosseum and 5 min walk to the train station!

This is THE best stay place to explore Rome. "Andrea" made us very welcome and offered useful advice.Beautifully furnished room and nice and quiet.Termini and metro stations very close by but all main sites walkable and there's a good selection of places to eat nearby.

Stayed here for a couple of nights while visiting Rome. Good location near to the Termini. Room was adequate, quite quirky in that its in a building which is shared with other residents and the rooms are down various corridors behind separate locked doors, so very safe. Room was nicely decorated with some original features & had a window with...

I had a wonderful time here. the rooms are small but yet very cozy and all the amenities. Coffee provided was delicious. Its very close to Roma Termini and thats the biggest advantage. Coming to hotel staff, they are very helpful and guided us very well on how to spend our day in Rome & must try restaurants. Heavy Travelers...

We had not stayed in a 'hostel' previously but it we could not have chosen a better place for a long weekend break. Andrea the host is a fantastic guy and really goes above and beyond to make you feel at home - he is on what's app for advice if you are out and about and he and the...

Kudos to Ercole, Andrea, and the staff of The Blue Hostel that I may fail to mention for making many travelers happy and their trip to Rome memorable. The many good points: - Multiple doors and stairs before you get to your room. Which by itself gives you some safe distance away from dodgy Termini. Maybe not great with bad...

Rooms and location are perfect and all historic locations are nearby. Ercore is a good host and doing really his best to accomodate you. One thing is about money. The website showed a discount for 3 days, and when trying to book, discount disappeared and I had to call. By calling I had to pay about the double price. Flight...

Hello! Thank you very much for your review! I am really sorry for the price inconvenient, we try to be as clear as possible with the price policy at Bluehostel. It is possible that you have seen a discounted rate for regular days, but normally discounts do not apply at festivities like the Christmas period, that is why the discount...

We stayed here one night last month prior to heading north the next day. After a lengthy flight from Australia, we were met by a car organized by Blue Hostel [50 Euro] and delivered to our temporary abode within 40 minutes. The apartment is up several flights of steps with no elevator so this should be considered if elderly or...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
