The zone is very good and central. Nice place. But unfortunately things weren't as promised. There was very law wifi in the room we could only use it at the loby. The breakfast includes only coffe and korasoun. We payed 60 Ero pre order to the site but this mount hasn't reduced from the total price. We payed actually 60...

The residence is very centrally located and perfectly situated to explore the city and walk everywhere: town, the colloseum and the vatican, but the square is right underneath the bedroom window, so it can get very noisy on weekends, when there are people partying outside. The bedroom was very neat and clean, one of the best accomodations we stayed in...

Me and my friend (both 18) stayed here from the 8th of July to the 11th. The owner contacted us before our arrival asking if we needed any help finding the hotel or transport which was really appreciated! We got a taxi from the main station which was about €20 after booking a coach transfer from the airport. We were...

Layers of graffiti obscure the entrance door to the Calisto 6. Customers from the bar downstairs are happy to point you in the right direction. You need to climb a decent flight of stairs to the first floor. No elevator. We were greeted by the manager, Andrea. who was exceptionally friendly. This is a bustling neighborhood-24/7; night life, restaurants, musicians, and...

We recently stayed at Calistos 6 whilst on our 4 day trip to Rome and was not expecting to find such a hidden gem of a B'n'B in the heart of local culture in the centre of Trastevere, Rome! Before we tell you about our stay, I would just like to make a special comment on the excellent communication from...

I have to say, hotel is in prime location in Trastevere. Meaning that if you are looking for authentic and semi-hipsterish area in Rome, this is your place. Walking distance from touristry downtown. Lots of local restaurants around. It's B&B, so naturally minimal staff, but then everyone should realize this when they enter. Typical breakfast option (coffee + croissant) from...

The B&B is located in Trastevere, an area full of great bars and restaurants; unfortunately one of those great bars, a very popular one, is located right under the B&B, and it’s open till 2 AM. Our room was nice and clean, but to go to the bathroom we had to cross the hallway. Other guests had to do the...

Almost comically noisy but after a day tramping through Rome, this didn't bother us - we slept through all the hubbub from the bar downstairs which lasted through until 2am apart from on Sundays. The bar itself is a corker so perhaps the best way round this is to adopt a 'if you can't beat 'em' attitude while we did...

We would like to stay in a litlle hotel ín the middle of Rom and we found it. The B&B provided the necessary thing we needed and clean. From the evening through the night the Calisto Bar, which lies under our B&B was surprisingly livlely and that didn't bother us but we experienced the real Italians culture instead. Andrea the...

I hadn't read these reviews before our visit (we booked through laterooms.com) and I have to admit some people have valid concerns (safety if by themselves with only one other guest, noise at night, shared bathrooms, narrow stairs). BUT we LOVED our stay. We were in the guest house around the corner off the square, and I felt like I'd...

Staying in Trastevere

Neighbourhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our bed and breakfast is located on the first floor of an ancient building of the 15th century, in the heart of Rione Trastevere, very close to Santa Maria in Trastevere square. 'Calisto 6' B&B is the perfect place to experience daily life in a typical Roman setting.
