We stayed at the Hotel Filippo in Rome for 2 nights during our recent vacation in the city. The hotel is located right opposite the Rome Main Station occupying Level 2 of a residential building. The area is safe at night and it is also home to Rome’s mini-Chinatown where there were a couple of Chinese restaurants and shops along...

Our adventure was pretty much the same as everyone else's reviews. It was hard to locate from the train station. Maybe our map was wayyy off because it was much further than it appeared on the map. We got to the "office" and were escorted by a little man who walked us a few blocks away to a different location....

Firstly the Hotel location is where the office is only, You room can be in one of many spare rooms in other hotels on Rome. We went looking for the Hotel as per the map on the hotel website however it was about 4 blooks further away than we thought. When we arrived we were told that the room was...

The rooms are located on the 2nd floor of an apartment block close to the station. This meant that it was quick to reach having arrived by train, however we did walk up and down the road twice before we spotted the sign on the wall. We were told that the area around the station was a bit rough, so...

We were husband wife and our 2 children aged 8 and 13. We were welcomed by a smart lady who gave us a map of Rome and pointed out the hotel and its surroundings. She complimented us with daily water bottles(4 x 500ml). Room was always spotlessly clean, with changed linen and towels. Rooms were spacious. Good value for money...

The location is really close to the train station, and the proprieters here went out of there way to ensure that we were taken care of. I can't say enough about the Outstanding service that was provided by the staff here! A truly enjoyable stay!

i am into my 2nd night at Hotel Filippo as I am writing this review. i arrive from Florence to Rome on 22 April and like many, I was frantically looking for my hotel via a vaguely printed map. This hotel is situated very near Termini, conveniently set in a mini Chinatown (lots of Chinese owned shops) and via Giolittle,...

This hotel is one bloack back from the main train station. Close enough to walk with cases, far enough away to have a bit of quite. The rooms are clean and big enough to unpack. Our room had a small fridge and a safe, nice touch for this price bracket. The majority of the sites are within walking distance. Vatican...

This location enables you to get to any part of the city conviniently (metro & buses from termini) Sabriana was courteous & helpful. The breakfast is adequate in a nice cafe close by. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. There are a lot...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

“A great firm king size bed for my bad back, extra pillows, clean, clean - highly recommend. Towels a little rough but kind service, daily complimentary bottled water .makes up for all. Earplugs help (but any urban condo you need them). WIFI in room .great for computer. We are in Hotel Simone, one of three hotels within 3 blocks they own. Reserved at Filippino but taken here - all good looks just like picture. Daily breakfast coupon for Miky Bar for coffee and croissant, it is great. Will definitely stay here again. Here six more days and if anything changes will advise. Rome is a noisy city - bring earplugs for good nights sleep”
