This hotel has a great location, close to subway, buses and trams. The room was clean and the bed was really comfortable. The hotel offers a nice complimentary breakfast buffet with hot and cold choices and pastries. The room has a cell phone with maps and tourist information, which was a good help getting around town. The staff is excellent,...

Good location, 5 mins walk from Roma Termini station and also Metro station. Clean hotel room, excellent and helpful reception staff. We were given a free room upgrade. Room was big with a seating area & sofa. Everything was excellent, we enjoyed our stay!

We have been visiting this hotel annually since travelling with our teenage children 5 years ago, and since then, travelling as just a couple. We wouldn't consider staying anywhere else when in Rome. Close to Roma Termini (5 min walk) which is very convenient if catching the train to airport or doing short day trips via train. Not all of...

My wife and I just spent 7 days in Rome and we stayed at the Augusta Lucilla Palace. We knew it is a great hotel since we stayed there for 6 days in 2009. The hotel is just 2 blocks away from the Roma Termini. The staff is helpful and friendly. The hotel is clean and the breakfast has a...

Hotel is clean, near train station and has a few nice gadgets like cell phone in your room and massage beds. The phone works well for sightseeing as you can take it with you while looking for best route to Colosseum and Vatican. I forgot to try massage bed but as I heard from my fellow traveler, it worked like...

If you are arriving or departing by train, the Augusta Lucilla is only 5 or 6 minutes' walk from Termini station which is the main station. Staff are both friendly and helpful and there is an excellent breakfast served each morning with extensive hot and cold choices. Beds are comfortable and sophisticated with electric head- and foot- raising mechanisms, as...

We stayed here in April 2017 with the intention of seeing the sights Rome has to offer. Located a 5 minute walk from train/bus terminal it has excellent links to the city. It is very clean and well presented and the staff were very friendly and polite. We stayed in a small double room which was not huge but had...

Booked this hotel based on location as it is close to the termini and reppublicca metro stops. The hotel is not difficult to find. We arrived and were greeted to a warm welcome. We were a bit early and the room was bring made. The room itself was spacious enough. We were on the side of the main road however...

This was an amazing hotel. A 5 minute walk from the train station and a 10 minute walk to the coliseum, forum and many other ruins! The beds adjust so you can lift head/feet and even have a massage option. They also give you a cell phone for the duration of your stay, so if your from out of country...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
