We stayed in Rome for two nights 9-10 January 2015 at La Girandola with our two sons booking two rooms ; we opted for an affordable option close to the train station on our way back home not expecting much ! We found the front door with ease in an unexciting street ; We were very happy to find a...

B & B was very easy to find from station, we were met upon arrival and shown our room which was a pleasant surprise. Room was large, clean, decent bathroom (small shower) and even had a fridge. Whilst the host does not speak much English he understood it was our first time in Rome and showed us on a map...

A great B+B so close to the Railway Station....( just don't trust the map ) best thing when arriving is to go out the left Exit doors from the main platform, cross the pedestrian crossing and turn left. Take the 2nd street ( about 150 mtrs ) and turn right. It will be on your left walking down about 100...

I stayed at La Girandola for 2 nights, because I arrive at night and it is not on a particularly pretty looking street, I thought my god what had I come too. I couldn't be more wrong, the room was spotlessly clean, the ensuite shower room modern, clean and bright. The family that run this 3 bedroom B&B are so...

We needed an inexpensive B&B near the Termini train station in Rome for the night of May 23, 2012, so that we could catch an early flight the next day from the airport. We walked the block or two from the station, rang the bell, and were greeted by a pleasant gentleman who spoke no English. He got us settled...

Easy to find and you can walk from the Termini station if your luggage has wheels. The owner offered each of s coffee on arrival. BUT : he does not understand or speak any other language the Italian. Not a word ! Obtaining information is thus impossible. Room very small. Bathroom with toilet en suite. Well isolated from (loud) street...

B&B is situated just 5 mins away from Termini Station. Spend quite some time looking for it when we just arrived Rome. Owner do not speak English but is very welcoming. He will try his best to make you feel at home and help you in the attractions of Rome. Breakfast was basic, room is small and clean.

Wonderful, clean hotel, very friendly own. Location was perfect, clean, near Termini. The area was safe with many restaurants nearby. Breakfast was included, very substantial. Rates are amazon, around 60 euro which is a bargain for nice a place. Would definitely recommend this place.

I loved this B & B. I have stayed in different B & B's twice before in Rome. This one gets my overall vote as being the best. The room and its' facilities were by far superior to any other B & B I have stayed in. Large room with a good, decent bathroom. Our B & B room was...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
