Why it only gets 2/5 from me is mainly A/C. It doesn’t work worth a damn, and the lowest you can set the temp is 18 Celsius. The other reason is the room is tiny. Nice room, beautiful lobby, good location and clean. Won’t be...More
In our searches for a Naples hotel, my wife and I read hundreds of reviews. Many touted the likes of Gran Vesuvio or Parkers. We ran across several reviews though, that mentioned the Grand Hotel Santa Lucia in very favorable terms; as a hotel on...More
Thai is a lovely hotel, we didn’t have a sea view but were in the 5th floor in a room that had been recently updated. The whole hotel is immaculate and the staff are very helpful and polite, nothing was too much trouble.
I stayed for three nights at the Grand Hotel Santa Lucia as part of a trip to Naples and surroundings.
The hotel is on the sea, with a nearly pedestrian street in front, so it is pretty quiet.
Rooms are quite big and well kept,...More

Morning. It is 15.4 miles from Naples airport to this Hotel. The only taxi we took was from Castel Nuovo (the other castle) back to the Hotel at a cost of 10 Euro for 8 miles without luggage. We always ask the price from drivers and they are pretty good at giving prices. There are many private services that are also available. We also used Transferelax while in Naples at a cost of 30 euro. for this same type of transfer and their prices are online. They provided 4 transfers for us in Italy. Also check out Viator and see their prices. Hope this helps. May your journey be a pleasant one.

We went end of April 2016 with Viator. This is a TripAdvisor based tourist company that works with local tourist providers. We took a half-day tour (they have the whole day tour option as well). It was absolutely worth every penny (58 Euro). Not to mention it was much cheaper than company offered to us by the hotel: 50 Euro for the bus only, plus 11 Euros to enter, plus (at least 10 Euros) for the guide. So, you are talking minimum 71 Euros!! Price of the guide will depend on the size of the group, you have to bargain with them in front of the Pompei entrance, and you never know who will you run into. There is the option of going on your own by train from the main train station, but then you are on your own once you arrive to Pompei. This was our first experience with Viator, and I can tell you they are in my bookmark list after this experience.
