Better late than never with this review. We found Hotel Canasta by reading Trip Advisor reviews, and we were delighted with our choice. It was a wonderful start to our honeymoon! We stayed three beautiful October nights in the east balcony room. The pool was...More
lovely house in the center of Capri, 5 minutes from the Piazzetta, typical capri style with tyiles and white walls, lovely pool in the grass and very nice patio for outdoor breakfast (very good american buffet included in the very attractive rooms rates). The hall...More
My wife and I have stayed for extended periods at Canasta (2-3 weeks) for the past five years in the spring and fall. The hotel is family owned and run by them personally. They pay attention to every detail of this small, quiet and very...More
We have just returned from our second visit in consecutive years to the Hotel Canasta on Capri and have already booked our stay for 2011.
That just about sums up what we think of the Canasta Hotel. The hotel is situated in a quiet location...More
I've stayed at the Hotel Canasta twice, once in 9/10, once in 6/04 and both times it was great. We went to Capri for a friend's wedding and saw several hotels on the island. The Canasta is by far the best for the price. The...More

Hi ... Yes I think so... There was a gay couple staying the same time as us... You're really left alone ... You only see the waiter at breakfast and he's lovely... The hotel is in a Good location .... Views from the rooms on the ground floor aren't great but it's in a quiet lane just off the main drag.... Try and get a room overlooking the faraglioni rocks, as some of the rooms had small terraces which had no view and were overlooked by everyone coming down the stairs. I think a first floor room would have better views! You'll have a great time.... So many lovely things to see... Make sure you go to the villa lysis... Amazing.... It even has An opium den ... Not in use of course!! Also there's an old monastery just up from the hotel ... That's beautiful.... Loads of artwork and There's a secret balcony with stunning views of a secret bay ...... And try Lo Sfizio restaurant .... The best food on the island , worth the walk up the hill ...have a fabulous time... ;)

The hotel is not that far from the main plaza. It's about 5 minutes walk. Capri is a very small town and most hotels are walking distance from the funicular. The room we got (with view of the sea) is on the main floor. The rooms without a view is one floor down. The main entrance itself is a few flight of stairs from the street.
