I stayed in Hotel Admiral for a week with two of my girl friends. We got a room with a balcony and the views were totally divine. I needed to do some work while I was there and I needed a quiet room and a charger and a few more bits. The staff could not have been more nice, helpful or accommodating with any of our requests. Location wise it is down by the water with fab views around 12-15 min walk to the centre. There are also some lovely restaurants near the hotel too. Thank you to Danilo and the crew for their hospitality. Much appreciated. We will be back.
Lacking on many fronts: Rude staff memeber on check-in, inside public areas are very, very, VERY old and outdated and absolutely no sound proofing in the rooms. Breakfast was OK. So many other options to stay in Sorrento, go there instead but avoid this one.
Do not believe the ‘four star’ status, as at least two of them are for decoration. Upon entry we were greeted by a miserable unkempt man on reception. We discovered that our room was not as booked, paid for or describe. It was dirty with broken and with fixtures, lamps not plugged in, broken sockets and lacked a fridge. We had booked a room with a full ‘panoramic’ sea view, to discover that it was framed by parts of the building - it didn’t fit the description. I requested a change of room on the basis of the description (above), but the receptionist was rude and said that the hotel was unable to change rooms. We could hear conversations of people in the neighbouring rooms, as well as a constant electrical noise throughout the night. The breakfast selection was okay, but the quality of the ingredients was lacking.Given the poor state of the hotel and not being given the room we had paid for, we checked out after one night. The duty manager then tried to offer a room change, but to be honest, the state of the hotel meant that we were not willing to stay any further. The website photos and description are misleading. The photos are not representative of the true state or condition or the building, furnishings, or some of the linens. It’s also worth noting that there is no vehicular access closer than 250 metres and you will have to trail your luggage over uneven cobbles. The nearest parking is €15 euro per night (until 11am following which there is an hourly surcharge). On a different note, Sorrento is lovely in many parts, reasonably priced (if your used to UK/London prices) and a great place to visit. The Amalfi coastline is exciting and beautiful. You must visit Sorrento, but please don’t ruin your holiday by staying in this hotel.…
I’ve been here for 4 nights I’m sorry to give it a bad review but, except for the people who worked at the desk at the view, there is nothing here a 4 stars hotel should have. My room was really small, dirty, the handle of the window broken ( it fall down every time we open it), and an unusefull giant lamp ( didn’t work) used all the space on the desk ( it was also ugly, but that is just an opinion). In the room there was no place for two people stuff, no fridge or mini bar. In the bathroom there was no space for even a small beauty case o even to put your toothbrush somewhere. No mirror expect for the one in bathroom. The shower small and dirty. Also no privacy at all: not only I could here everything from the other rooms, when they spoke, went to the toilet…but I was also able to see inside the other rooms, since we share the balcony. The breakfast was kind of a joke. The maitre ( I think it was the maitre) kept yelling to the other waiters for all the time, making everybody nervous. The food was nothing special, nothing from Campania or at least Italian, no alternatives for food allergies. Maybe, during the 80’s, when they give this hotel 4 stars it was something. Right now it does not deserve even 2. I’m quite tired to pay a lot of money just because.…
I stayed here for 8 nights with my partner. Upon arrival I was not given the room I booked. I was given a room on the 4th floor one of the pink rooms - terrace was lovely down to the beautiful view of the bay. The bathroom however was awful!! I don’t think this has been refurbished since 1970! Sink plug broken, mold around the bath, shower curtain dirty and the shower was so old it sprayed a fine spray everywhere - not for me or possibly a 4star. There was a cigarette end under my bed too😬The stairs, landing and corridors could be in a hostel - the railings For The stairs had dust on dust, the original carpet still down and then another stuck on top as a runner obviously where it was worn out underneath!! Just not nice at all! Reception is lovely a real disappointment when you leave the area to get the lift. If you like the sun this is not the hotel for you - swimming pool in the shade from 10am making the water cold so not really what I was looking for. 18 sun beds for the whole hotel, the rest were deck chairs??? And again all beds in the shade by 2 pm. They changed my room the following day for the room I actually booked - not good enough! The room was nice Breakfast was cold - however they did cook mine fresh after that so it was always warm and also served at the table. You cannot serve yourself due to corona - I just didn’t get that it was okay for several people waiting behind a waiter to get served - similar to a supermarket cafe? Poor. . If you had water with your breakfast it was served in the flimsiest plastic beaker - not even a glass!! No glass in the room either just the flimsy plastic Nothing 4star about this hotel I have to say though the staff were trying their best! Towels were changed everyday but I would get that in a premier inn!…
