Across the plaza from the train station, this old-fashioned but still serviceable hotel features high ceilings, wood floors, and cleanliness. It's also handy to two car rental agencies and several restaurants, including a great favorite: Il Pecchero.

We stayed here one night as a stopover between a stay in Amalfi and heading up to Rome the next day on the Hi-Speed train. As other reviewers have noted, this is the perfect location for such a "transfer stay" as it's close to the ferry port as well as the train station. The owner(?) was there as we arrived...

This hotel is opposite the station and is a family business with long-standing employees. If the very charming management put as much effort into preventing errors as they do apologizing and correcting them, it would be a very good hotel. The Wifi crashed on my first morning, then the (broken) shower screen fell on me. After the wifi was restored...

Stayed here twice, once on the way to Amalfi, and then on our way back to catch a train to Venice. We found the hotel clean and tastefully appointed. You can,t beat the location whether your coming from the train station or the ferry pier. The train station is less than a three minute walk to the hotel, and the...

This hotel should be rated #1 in Salerno. Directly across the street from the train station, within walking distance. One street over is a street with lots to of shops and restaurants. One street the other way is next to the boardwalk and has left tsk of restaurants (would recommend Pinocchio's in particular). Rooms very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was...

This hotel is located right in the centre of Salerno, which works both for and against it. It's great that it is opposite the train station and in the heart of the town, but at night there is a lot of street noise and the trains are constantly making noise. There was also a lot of noise from inside the...

Just outside the station, only a couple of minutes from the seafront and the old town is within easy walking distance. The staff are very nice, the rooms spacious and comfortable and there are restaurants and cafes nearby if you don't want to eat in the hotel. It ticked all the boxes.

Like several other reviewers, we stayed in Salerno before catching the high-speed morning train to Rome. It should be noted that while Salerno is a commercial port city, the waterfront has been attractively re-developed and landscaped into a linear park, and the street which runs 2 blocks inland and parallel, on which The Plaza in located, has been made into...

We spent a night in Salerno en route to Rome and stayed at the Hotel Plaza. I was pleasantly surprised on a few fronts - clean, comfy bed, good WiFi, great location, and really good coffee with the morning buffet! Plaza Hotel is great for short stays - pleasant stay and well priced.
