Salerno Centro" Bed and Breakfast is housed in a former convent of 15th century. We are located in the main square of salerno, about 800 meters from Salerno train station: a simple and pleasant 10-minute walk along the pedestrianized Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the most important shopping area of Salerno. We have three very comfortable rooms with private or en-suite bathroom with free wi-fi connection and air conditioning. The free wi-fi connection is also provided in the wide common spaces. A limited made-to-order breakfast is served on a beautiful terrace which you relax yourself after the trips around Salerno. The intercity buses and the ferries to Amalfi, Positano and Capri are all 10 minutes away. There are many cafes, bars, restaurants and shops in the immediate vicinity, and the local bus lines are just a few steps away. Salerno deserves a full day or more just by itself, and can be used as a citybase for daytrips to the Amalfi coast, Cilento coast, Capri, Paestum, the Royal Palace of Caserta, Pompei, Ercolanum and Naples itself."Salerno centro" will be your home away from home.

Property's Favourite Review
We had the best stay on the Amalfi coast at Salerno Centro. Beginning with welcoming emails from Francesco when we first booked, and the offer to pick us up from the train station, we felt very special and well taken care of. The Bed and Breakfast is in a 17th century former convent with amazing high ceilings and modern fixtures. There are several different rooms available and we had booked the Positano suite, with private bath. Our adventure began with us messaging Francesco through Whatsapp as we boarded the train from Rome. When we arrived in Salerno, we found his parents, Lina and Pasquale waiting for us. They dropped us off close to the B & B (it is on a pedestrian-only street but you only walk less than half a block to the building). The stone building is impressive, with a massive wooden door. Inside, you enter a courtyard where you can take an elevator or stairs to the floor. When we arrived inside the B and B, Francesco offered us delicious lemon cookies and limoncello, which we later learned his mother made with lemons from their garden. The B and B has a kitchen and dining table where breakfast is served. My husband likes coffee so Francesco ensured we had coffee available so he could make some when he wanted. The breakfast included home-made cake or delicious cornetto (croissants), with fruit, bread, juice, yogurt, meats and cheese, eggs if you wish, and oranges from the garden. Lina arrives at 8 am to make breakfast for all guests. For coffee you had a choice of espresso, cappuccino or Americano, with cream or milk. The rooms are spotlessly clean and very comfortable. There is a cute terrace off the Positano suite, however it was cool in December and we didn't end up using it. There is also a larger terrace off the dining room for guests to dine al fresco if they wish. They offer an opportunity to have a cooking lesson with Lina, who once worked in her family's restaurant. We booked that option and had a wonderful night in Lina and Pasquale's home where we learned how to make pasta, sauce and eggplant parmigiana. Delicious! Salerno is a great place to stay on the Amalfi coast and is very safe. It is a regular Italian city, often overlooked by tourists heading to the more well known villages such as Positano or Amalfi. It is a perfect place as a base to explore those villages (with easy and affordable transport via ferry, train or bus) and is on a direct train route from Rome or Naples. We are so glad we opted to stay in Salerno as in December it is famous for its Christmas light display. Many Italians travel to Salerno to see this and enjoy some Christmas shopping. There are many terrific restaurants close to the B and B so you can stroll around, enjoy an Aperol Spritz on a terrace, and eat delicious pasta, seafood, pizza, gelato and more. We had a wonderful time with Francesco, Lina and Pasquale, who made us feel like family. We highly recommend Salerno Centre Bed and Breakfast for your stay in Salerno.

Francesco, Lina, and Pasquale were all superb hosts! The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. Francesco went out if his way to show us around Salerno, made recommendations for tour guides and restaurants that were excellent, and even took us to Lina and Pasquale's where they taught us to make Ravioli from scratch, Eggplant Parmigiano, and Tiramasu. You will not find better people on the planet than Francesco and his family. Will be back soon! They are fabulous hosts!

Francesco and his parents are the ultimate hosts and allowed for a wonderful stay in Salerno. The beauty, charm and history of the city and their personal touch and hospitality made our stay both wonderful and nostalgic. They helped me personally revisit part of my parents’ past who often mentioned Salerno with fond remembrances…now I understand why. Their B&B was warm, comfortable, centrally located and the breakfast was great. Thanks Francesco!

A perfect B&B in all ways. - Beds; I stayed in two of the rooms (smaller and then the larger room) and slept exceedingly well in both. Beds, pillows, bedding helps give you the sleep you need to enjoy your vacation. - Accommodations; The private bathroom for 2 of the rooms is truly that - it is for your use only (no other guests) and it literally 2 steps from your bedroom door. The rooms are clean, well furnished and well maintained. Very comfortable. - Breakfast is perfect. A friendly affair around the dining room table - cappuccino/cafe, juice a freshly home baked item, yogurts, fruit, even eggs upon request. . - Location is perfect, right in the middle of things. Enjoy the sunset and pop-back to put your camera away before dinner. It's right in the center and easily accessible to all you need. - the BEST hosts anywhere. Francesco goes above and beyond. From the informational emails before arrival, to local pickup/drop off services. To help arranging activities Francesco is knowledgable, efficient and extraordinarily personal and friendly. His Parents Lena and Pasqual help cook, clean and provide a true Southern Italian home experience. - Next time I'll be sure to join a cooking class with Lena! . I recommend Salerno Centro B&B 100%

We had a great stay. Francesco reached out as soon as we booked to see if he could help with planning and transportation. It was so helpful. Then when we arrived he and his dad Pasquale met us at the ferry and drove us to the B&B. We were very comfortable there and again got great entertainment and food ideas. His mom Lina made us delicious cake from home picked hazelnuts. Yum! Then Francesco delivered us to our rental car location when we were leaving. Highly recommend this b and b

Francesco was by far the most accommodating host I've come across. Picked us up at the ferry landing and dropped us at the train station. His mom and dad were wonderful. Breakfast was delicious and with an infectious smile. The rooms were large and well-appointed. The bed was comfortable. Francesco's food recommendations were excellent and he made Salerno a place we'd love to revisit.

Francesco, Lina, and Pasquale started out as B&B hosts, who wanted to give us a wonderful experience of their city, Salerno and they have transformed from friends and immediately into family. We have decided to combine our lives together here in Salerno, of all which started in this beautiful B&B. The B&B began as a convent for Domenica monks and the ownership was transferred 100 years ago to Mamma Lina's great grandfather. Enshrined in history (yet with modern appliances such as air conditioning, refrigerator, and a terrace) the B&B is quintessentially Italian and particularly salernitano. You may have breakfast American style or Italian style (classic pastries and Espresso) when you want, every day. The rooms are placed in the center of town, yet it remains miraculously silent at night. The prices are more than affordable and yet you are a stone's throw away from the famed lights during Christmas (Luci d'artista) and all the shops you can dream of. The B&B is about a 6 minute walk from the famed Church of Saint Matthew (San Matteo), where one of the original 12 apostles relics are buried. Better hosts than these do not exist. Enjoy your lovely time with them as I have.

We were very fortunate to stay at the lovely Salerno Centro Bed and Breakfast. We didn't even have the "nice" room with the patio and it didn't matter. We didn't go to the Amalfi Coast to sit in our hotel room! Which was large and comfortable regardless. The proprietor, Francesco, is masterful in making the guests feel comfortable in the accommodations in this 17th century building. At the breakfast (fantastic and catered by his lovely and talented mother) he went out of his way to make sure that each day's activities were well planned and organized. For instance when the ferries weren't running due to high seas, he provided a bus schedule, and ulitmately arranged for a rental car after I said I wanted to drive to Ravello and Amalfi (-that- was fun, but not for faint hearted drivers). The historic area of Salerno is just a few steps from the hotel. A few minutes walk away is the train station. There are lovely places to sit and sip coffee or wine just across the street and all up and down the lovely streets of Salerno. We chose Salerno because it is right on the Italiarail line. That means excellent access via rail and high speed trains to Pompeii, Herculaneum, Naples. We flew into Rome and took the high speed Frecciarossa train to Salerno which was incredibly easy and comfortable. I miss Salerno, and Salerno Centro Bed and Breakfast! I am definitely looking forward to another visit someday.

We enjoyed our stay at this unique Bed & Breakfast. The accommodations were clean & comfortable. Breakfast provided by Lina was excellent! The owner is very accommodating to help you make the most of your stay in Salerno. It is very easy to walk to the pier to get ferry’s to Capri, Amalfi & Positano etc. In Salerno, near the B&B are excellent restaurants. Enjoy!
