There's good reason why locals from miles around flock to the ristorante at La Dimora dei Cavalieri for Sunday lunch. It's three memorable hours of assorted hot and cold antipasto, vegetable soup, two types of pasta, pizziettas, and a platter of cheeses washed down with local Mount Vulture wine...and then a selection of sweets followed by limoncello. All served by...

Best meal we had in Italy, beyond plentiful, with a gracious host (Angelo) who explained the origin of every delicious thing we ate. Lots of good zucchini flower dishes, terrific lamb, local wine, and an excellent homemade donut type filled pastry, not too heavy. an assortment of homemade liquers after dinner. A great deal and a peaceful setting.

My husband and I loved this place so much when we visited a couple of years ago that we’ve been itching to get back since. This time we went with my mother and stepfather, who are britsh but live in Italy a few hours drive away, so we all stayed for a few nights to enjoy the food and warm...

We are really proud for this review. To keep the standard high is not so easy and require a lot of efforts. And surely to emotion guests and friends coming back to La Dimora is not so easy. We are really happy we have been able to make this happening again!

My boyfriend and I stayed at La Dimora dei Cavalieri in May 2012. My family is originally from Basilicata, and on this trip, we were to visit my family’s hometown of San Mauro Forte (only the second in my family to make it back since my great grandparents left and came to America!) We sought authentic experiences of southern Italian...

We stayed at La Dimora while visiting family in Vaglio. The hospitality of the inn cannot be matched! The Ricciuti family were our gracious hosts. Angelo worked very hard at making sure we had working internet, which was of great importance to us. He went above and beyond to make sure our every comfort was attended to. Each morning our...

My only regret is that we did not stay longer; we had only the one afternoon and evening before our departure. We arrived at La Dimora early on a Monday following two weeks of busy touring. After wondering what next to do, we decided we could just relax. We were impressed by the Basilicata landscape and refreshed by the fresh...

It was like going to someone you already know. I have read all the reviews before booking and had very high expectations. Angelo (the owner of Dimora) delivered fully and we felt like we were his favorite distant cousins, very friendly and like a perfect host, without being intrusive or overpowering. The room was spacious, super clean, beds comfortable and...

After a two and half week trip exploring Rome, Amalfi Coast and Sicily we stayed three nights at La Dimora dei Cavalieri to quietly relax and enjoy (need car) the region before our trip home. We were treated like royalty with great service, spacious and comfortable rooms and wonderful food. Angelo and his staff were very gracious and could not...

This is a hidden gem of a place. This a great B&B run by a family who really care about what they do and how to treat /welcome their guests. I can confirm that the food is fantastic and the family take great pride in serving locally sourced produce and dishes that are homemade. Just like the food, the view...

Our party stayed at La Dimora for an amazing 2 nights in June 2010, as part of a 2-week trip in Italy. The stay was beyond our expectations! Upon our arrival, Angelo arranged a spot for us on the balcony with a beautiful panoramic view of the rolling hills of Basilicata, and proceeded with a private tasting of Aglianico wines....
