Location fantastic, rooms superb, great staff, food very good standard. I have stayed there twice before and staff make you feel very welcome. Restaurant manager called Frank is such a great character and makes everyone happy as always checks on everyone to make sure they are okay. Everywhere is so clean.

The newly refurbished Ambassador Playa hotel is really in the heart of the British bar scene in Benidorm. Opposite Morgans Tavern and the Palladium cabaret bar the hotel is just a couple of minutes walk from the Levante beach. I would say the hotel is just 4 star - for a 4 star hotel the standard rooms are a little on the small side though very nicely decorated and furnished. The beds are very comfortable. There is a fridge and kettle. Whilst there is ample wardrobe space there are only 2 medium sized drawers and a small drawer in each of the bedside tables. The good sized balconies have 2 chairs and a small table as well as a small built in drying rack. Being just refurbished everything is clean and fresh. Lighting is bright and controllable with an interesting facility to vary the colour of a lighting panel between the bedroom and bathroom. The TV is good sized and has facilities to mirror your phone/tablet to it. The bathroom handbasin is small and there are no shelves or storage for shampoos toothbrushes face flannels etc. Towels are of good size and fluffy. The walk in shower is large and powerful (excellent pressure and we were on the 5th floor). Public areas are bright and clean but in a 4 star hotel I would have expected some easy chairs and a lounge area rather than simply padded benches round the walls of the reception area. The 2 small lifts were OK as the hotel was not fully occupied during our stay but at times of full occupation they will be wholly inadequate. Breakfast and dinner (and presumably lunch) are served buffet style with a good selection of hot and cold dishes as well as freshly cooked egg and pancake dishes at breakfast and fish and meats at dinner. Drinks are provided from machines at breakfast and these need serious improvement, fruit drinks are watery and unpleasant, equally the hot drinks are far too weak. At dinner drinks are bought from the bar in the restaurant and prices are very reasonable. The staff at reception and in the restaurant are friendly and efficient. Currently (October 2021) face coverings are required in public areas and in the restaurant until seated. We had cause to express some concern about a guest who seemed to be ignoring the requirement for a face covering even when collecting food from the buffet - we noticed that he was spoken to and from then on complied with the requirement as did others. Outside are two pools with small shallow pools for children. The pools are surrounded by plenty of sun loungers. The poolside bar serves a limited selection of snacks and drinks at very reasonable prices. In the evening there is entertainment when the weather is appropriate. Secure car parking is available at 12 Euros a day nearby. In the basement of the hotel is a spa which costs 15 Euros for a two hour session and various massage treatments are available for extra cost. The spa has a large heated pool with various hydrotherapy jets together with sauna steam room and ice room. The Explorers Bar has interesting decoration and furnishing but the music is too loud for us though others clearly enjoy it! All in all the Ambassador Playa hotel offers extremely good value for money and we are enjoying our stay.

We are frequent visitors to Benidorm as we live in Spain. I will say the positive things. Location if you want the Brit end. Swimming pool and sundeck excellent Shower the best I have ever tried. Restaurant and food absolutely fantastic. The quality and presentation was exceptional. Staff in the restaurant ALL were customer focused helpful always friendly, smiling and couldn't do enough for people. Reception team also were very helpful and supportive. Now the negatives and worrying concerns. It all looks beautiful but for us during the 4 days our door seemed to have locked but it wasn't so you really need to check. First day door left open by not realising. We had to keep trying and trying the door before we left. REPORTED BUT NOT SORTED. We were at the end of the cleaning round and the cleaners never had time to do ours properly. Went without soap and cups first two days complained got from reception. The day before leaving they only managed basic and it really wasn't good. Plus the cleaners really not friendly in fact rude. CONCERN. the shelf in the main bedroom has a light underneath be warned it gets sooooo hot it's dangerous be careful with kids or leaving anything on top. The lifts worry me after seeing it get stuck. Needs a shelf for bits in the bathroom as no much space for toiletries. Overall they need to sort out teething problems after opening up.

We came for our friends 40th and our honeymoon on the 1st oct for a week. On arrival we were given a bag with something to eat and drink due to missing the evening meal. On entering our room on the 5th floor we were greeted with a bottle of cava, a plate of fruit and a letter from the hotel congratulating us. The room was immaculate very spacious and clean. The view from the balcony was also very good it overlooked the pools, bar and stage. We stayed full board the food was spot on I’m a fussy eater but there was something for everyone.great presentation of all the food and everything labelled. The staff were very friendly.we definitely will be going back this ids the best hotel we have stayed in. Well done on all the hard work that was put into the refurbishment.
