Stayed in a private room with shared bath. The room was small but sufficient. It was clean. We faced San Bernardino, but by being on the 5th floor we weren't bothered by street noise. The shared bathroom concept consisted of three individual bathrooms that could be locked for private use. The bathrooms also were clean. In this location you can...

We booked 1 night through Booking.com, it was the last room and it was 64euro (for a hostel is a bit expensive but because of the location we decided to book it) once we made the payment (which was non-refundable) we got an email from the hostel saying that we were going to be charged 25euro EXTRA because we were...

We booked our room last minute after our flight to the states got cancelled last minute. Check-in was quick and painless. The whole place is very clean, welcoming and cozy. Although we didn't have a private bathroom, the bathrooms were very clean. I can't say enough good things about this place, other than I reviewed it on another site as...

A room you would want to live in for life. £26 for the night. Spotlessly clean. Exceptionally presented. Comfy bed. Great views in centre of Madrid. Loved opening the patio doors. Staff were lovely & very informative. TV room. Lift to top floor. 10mims from theatres & shops. Had shopping done, passed most of the landmarks & ended at the...

Small, clean and cosy room in the malasana neighboorhod. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the daywatch speaks English perfectly. This hotel / hostel is located on the 5th floor but there is an elevator. We tried the breakfast everyone recomended and it was great.

The hosts are very friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and bright most of all not claustrophobic. The wifi actually works and they have some great areas like the lounge. The location is absolutely amazing- I don't really have a bad word to say!

This place is casual and host is really helpful. It has shared bathroom and rooms are pretty basic but with nice home alike touch. I really felt like at home. It could come with more amenities for the price. All in all nice place for short stays, not for bussines users.

We had an overnight stay in Madrid due to a very long connection between flights. As I looked through various hostels to find somewhere more comfortable to crash than the airport I came across Flat5. At first it looked too good to be true: a double bed in a private room for only a couple of Euros more than two...

At 3 minute walk from the metro Noviciado, in an old 5 story building: wooden floors and old charm. Flat 5 is value foe money. Good beds, clean and looked after. Walking distance to Malasana and its bars. Friendly front office staff.

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
