Good location, big clean room, comfortable bed.The room we stayed in has a very small kitchen with fridge which was handy. Great shower and plenty toiletries. The staff friendly, breakfast great in the restaurant and WiFi very efficient. The hotel is not suitable for people struggle with stairs as the lift is on the first floor. one thing I would...

It is a slightly weird place. Rooms located above same name El Busco Del Tiempo restaurant and it is definitely not for handicapped or those having hard time with stairs. There is no front lobby or dedicated parking or easily recognizable hotel front entry. There is just a door and then you have to go upstairs 2 flights just to...

Overall, I was very happy with this place, all things considered. Clean, comfortable, good central location and all at a very reasonable price. For the money, it's really hard to beat honestly. The room was spacious, very clean, and even had a fridge and mini kitchen. I wouldn't call it luxurious, but it certainly wasn't spartan or super basic either....

Great little room right in the middle of the city. Lovely friendly staff and amenities nearby. Its not really an apartment/studio. There is a kitchenette that does the trick alright. Bit noisy outside on the Saturday night but fine every other evening. Two Irish pubs around the corner so we were happy campers! Stones throw to Plaza Mayor and easy...

Very nice place to stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast in the restaurant adjacent to the hotel was fantastic, ham cheese, tortilla Espanola, pan, yogurt, donuts, café con leche, coffee, orange juice and much more!

The only thing left to make it perfect is the lack of an elevator at the ground floor. If you're arriving with some luggage (my case), you'll have to pull them up for some stairs before reaching the elevator. But that's just a small problem that does not produce any impact at all. The room was vey cozy, with a...

We stayed at En Busca del Tiempo for the first time 9 years ago - recommended by the Norwegian Embassy. When we returned to Madrid again the 4th of June this year, we didn't even concider finding another place to stay. In small but rather busy (in a good way) Calle Barcelona, you have to know the streetnumber to find...

It all was ok. The location, the staff, the room, the price, the breakfast... we only spent a night on it but if we have to travel to Madrid again we are going to repeat with no doubt. Hope that this review has helped you.

My mum and myself stayed here for two nights. Our flight was delayed into Madrid so with a quick email we were able to organise our check in for the early hours of the next morning. The room was huge and the staff were lovely. Breakfast was a good range each morning and the coffee was great. The apartments are...

Stayed in Room 12 which was on the 3rd floor of the building next door - Number 6. It was huge and comfortably had room for 3 of us. The breakfast was lovely, the receptionist was friendly, the wifi worked, the hotel couldn't be any more central. Totally recommend it!!

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
