The hotel was nice and clean. The stuff were pleasent and always tried to help. We also had breakfests and it was fresh and very tasty. In the lobby there's a coffee machine free to use. It's location is great: 100 steps from the Gran via (main street) and from couple of main metro stations, supermarket and variety of restaurants....

Ideal location, extremely kind and helpful personal, services of very good level. Even our extra requests were fulfilled fast and easily. Our room was located in the mansard, minimally taking in water, while it rained. Illumination of the room was weak. No bedside tables. Reading lamp only for one side at the french bed. Breakfast range excellent, but the breakfast-room...

Splendid place for an anniversary break. Very pleasant and helpful staff, the breakfast choice was excellent for a continental hotel and the 24 hour availability of coffee and tea was really good. We had one of the inner rooms overlooking an atrium which made for a very quiet and comfortable stay. The rooms were very clean and tidy, lighting good...

The hotel is very well located near a Metro station but the rest is not good at all. The room is very poor, the people working there don't seem to notice you unless you direct to them, the room after cleaning smelled a lot of leach. I made my booking directly with the hotel and asked for a small attention...

Ideal location, just round the corner from the Main Street. Very clean, smelt lovely as you walked through into reception. Extremely friendly and helpful. Everything you need for a weekend away. Bedroom had tea/coffee making facilities, plus a minibar. Bathroom was large and had a great shower.

The hotel is in a good location for exploring old Madrid making everything walkable. The staff were excellent, nothing was to much for them. The breakfast had plenty of choice and there seemed something for everyone. The rooms, had nearly every toiletry you could wish for , were very clean and kept that way, but were on the small side...

Stayed in a family room with two bunk beds and two single beds, room smallish but beds very comfortable, shower room very good but perhaps a lock on the shower room door would be advisable when it is a family room. The location is perfect. You are in the middle of everything. Staff is fantastic and very friendly. The rooms are on the small side but who visits Madrit to sit in the room. I am a GM of a hotel in UK and i highly recommend this place to anyone visiting this lovely city.

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
