We spent 3 nights in this hotel. The best thing is the location. Very central and everything can be done by foot. That's about all that's positive. We never slept one night through. The rooms are not soundproof and a lot of drunken people will pass by the street every night until 6.A.M. making a hell of a noise. The...

Location- ultra central +10 Personal very nice +10 Clean +10 City bikes for free+++10 Breakfast food- large variety and delicious Prices are pretty expensive. Rooms are quite dark as the sun does not get into the rooms, but if you stay just for a few days, you won't spend too much time in the room during the day anyway. There...

There were a lot of great stores, restaurants and bars in walking distance which is why we chose this hotel. Our room was rather small but since we spent the whole day in the city it was quite ok. The staff was friendly and helpful. There was a great variety on the breakfast buffet. Unfortunately, we didn't see that you...

I used this hotel for a business trip. It is very central (just off the Gran Via, Madrid's main street), has restaurants, banks and other convenient things around, and the staff are very friendly. It's not that fancy, but it's functional. I would recommend for a business trip in the city.

The hotel is perfectly situated, just a short walk from major tourist sites, bars, restaurants & shopping. The staff were helpful, friendly and charming. Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
