I cant say enough about this hotel. a 4 star trip advisor rating does not do it justice. the staff is amazing, plus all i mentioned above. for a 4 star hotel...this is one of the best. although our room is not huge, 3 adults fit perfectly well...oh and the laptop provided in the room??? thats a first for me....

Who knew that the oldest hotel in all of Spain could be so nice and such a great deal. Madrid lacks a lot of branded properties and they ones they do have are usually quite pricey. I took a chance on trying something new since it was so much cheaper. I'd say this hotel is a few amenities away from...

The location of this hotel is excellent! Very central but quiet. The rooms are tastefully decorated and a free laptop/internet in the room was a great plus. We were 3 sisters sharing a room and even though it wasn't all that spacious we did fit in well. The personnel was friendly and helpful. Very good value for money. Will definitely...

The location of this hotel is excellent and the family room was perfect for our family of 2 adults and 2 teens. While the room is not large, it is layed out very well. Having a laptop in the room is great feature.

Helpful staff, lovely room with a great view over the street. Slightly odd bathroom though - it was like an opaque glass box! You couldn't see through the walls but if you turned the light on at night it lit up the whole room. In-room laptop was useful for looking things up. Would use again.

Very good location, in the city center. Also from the subway station Sol, only 5 walking distance. Also near the Major square. We arrived at midnight but we found the hotel very easily. Reception staff gave us a welcome, really helpful and kind guy. All rooms have no bath tub but only shower. Being in the historical building, our triple...

A good hotel with a great location! We were in the family suite with me and my wife with our one year old. Being 41, our trip is more about sights and museums and history not drinking. So with that said it accommodated very well. It is very near Plaza Mayor and Sol central so it was EXTREMELY easy to...

Perfect location for discovering the city, Right next to Plaza Mayor. Large room for family(separate bed area for parents + fold-away bunk beds for kids). Nice breakfast buffet. Laptop in room a big plus!

very nice hotel located absolutely perfectly in the centre. The reception was small, and offered free coffee and cold water during the day. The room was quite small, but the bed was very comfortable. It was very quiet considering the location and we heard no traffic noise at all.I couldn't get the Wi Fi to work, but there was a...

This hotel is in the middle of everything in Madrid. The hotel lobby is very small but safe as the desk clerks know who you are before letting you proceed upstairs. They were able to accomodate my family of 4 in one room. Great internet access and a laptop in the room. Not glamourous but very functional.

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
