Certificate of Excellence
What is Certificate of Excellence?
TripAdvisor gives a Certificate of Excellence to accommodations, attractions and restaurants that consistently earn great reviews from travellers.
This is the 3rd time I've stayed here and I would not consider choosing anywhere else in Madrid. The location is unbeatable - Madrid is very compact and this spot on Gran Via is beautiful and right in the middle of everything, being only seconds...More
This is a very basic hotel in a great location for a reasonable price. The room provides the bare minimum, but with a comfortable bed and is very clean compared to most hotels of the same price level in Spain. The hotel is family run...More
I participated in the Pueblo Ingles program and spent 2 nights, 1 week apart, in 2 different rooms. The hotel is literally 2 minutes from the easy-to-use Metro, Gran Via station.
The beds were not fancy, instead of 2 pillows there was 1 body pillow,...More
Despite being hard to find (only a sign in the doorway with about 12 other hostels indicates Hostel Felipe's location), I don't have a single bad thing to say about the hostel. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The hostel was my home away...More
This place is really good for backpackers with a loose budget and also for people that are not going to be all the time in their rooms.
The location is unbeatable, you are in the center of the city, so you can walk everywhere.

Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as

desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
