We stayed this weekend is hostel Prada. The rooms and bathroom are very clean, they were small but that's fine for the price you pay. When we checked in there was a problem with the payment between booking.com and Prada. Although we payed with Ideal, there was an unknown creditcard number on the booking which didn't matches with mine. The... More

We stayed here for two nights while interrailing. The hostel was very clean and within a very short walking distance from the central Madrid. It was nice to have a bathroom of our own. The staff was also friendly. Although the soundproofing of the walls was pretty lousy, we had a good night sleep. The interior wasn't that modern but... More

The owner really added such a personal touch to our stay. Twice in one visit. we stayed in madrid went to valencia then came back again for another night. He was so so kind and caring. The location is smack bang in the centre, leads right onto Grand Via. The showers were so powerful - which was great. for value... More

What a find in the center of Madrid! Large room, large bathroom, friendly staff, best location and such an affordable price. I was impressed with their professionalism and, at the same time, familiar feel. Highly recommended!

Stayed here one night. This place is in the smack of the city. Metro stations are 5 mins away. There are numerous restaurants & convenience stores within seconds. Rooms were a bit small, but hey who stays in the room all day when they are in Madrid. Bathrooms were small too buy no complaints. The only low side of this... More

Just stayed here last weekend, and it was excellent, and outstanding value for money. The rooms are simple and plain, but they're clean and of a nice size, and the beds are comfortable. I was a bit worried that with its tiled floor, the room might be a bit chilly (it was a very cold weekend), but the radiators were... More

I stayed at this hotel for two nights. It was supposed to be 3 nights however the reception and reservation staff do not speak English and there was a miscommunication which led to them putting me in a craptastic hotel next to them for my third night. The room was clean but very drab and dreary and my first room... More

Staying in Chueca

Neighbourhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
