Top-notch accomodation in terms of location. 1 minute away from main street of Madrid, Gran Via, Primark and metro. Fully equipped kitchen, 2 beds, plenty of heating to do for yourself since there is an air conditioner. What should be upgraded is definitely the breakfast, very poor, a glass of orange juice, a cup of coffee and a croissant, very...

It's very central, very clean, with very helpful staff and close to a metro station, but yet - very quiet. Our room was pretty small, but it had everything you need inside, with shared bathrooms well-equipped and fresh.

Customer service of the hostel was very bad, I booked a individual room for two nights to be able to sleep, but the hostel was so noisy both morning and afternoon that my experience was very unpleasant. When I talked at the reception desk three times, they did not do anything. When I asked for a discount, they passed me...

Decent value for money, room was very small, but it was clean. Wifi was decent too. Right next to Gran Via. Good option for a 1 night stay. Sound proofing isn't the best in the rooms. I could hear blaring music being played time to time. At least it didn't happen between midnight to 7 AM.

This visit was part of an adult Fine Arts Field trip. I was a little concerned about staying in a Hostel as my usual Hotel has to be a minimum of 4 stars but this delightful Hostel was very well run, exceptionally clean and perfectly located in a quiet cobbled street just off Grand Via where all the main shopping...

Stayed here for 2 nights mid May during the San Isidro festival in Madrid. Rates were incredibly cheap and I felt I got more than my money's worth. Stayed in the 3 person female dorm which had an en suite, for a hostel that's pretty luxurious! Lovely helpful staff who spoke English and let us leave our baggage at reception...

The hostel is located minutes away from Puerta del Sol and half a block away from Gran Via! It is modern and has a comfortable bathroom with bath tub and toilettries. The room is quite spacious but the beds may need new matresses. Jesica and Oxana were very helpul giving advice as to were to eat or how to get...

the combined toilet/shower areas are creepy. I don't understand why the showers have see-through glass, couldn't they be partitioned like the toilet cubicles? Also the first night we went there, the receptionist was exactly like norman bates and this creeped us out. he kept popping in and out of the rooms throughout the hostel explaining unnecessary things to us. but...

Fantastic location, great value for money, friendly staff and clean! I can't really comment on the breakfast as there's a little pub a few doors up ... Need I say more, But my partner enjoyed it. Would recommend to any one looking for a cheap weekend break :)

I am a fan of establishments being open about what you get. In this case I received a stinky room with no windows. This was no mentioned on any sites from the hostel and while it is "ok" , it should be noted. The bathroom is so small the toilet is almost the same place as the basin - although...

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
