Location was great. The room was really small and the bathroom was even smaller. I think it was the smallest (bath)room i have ever been to during our trips. There wasn´t even a place to put our bags. The room and bathroom were outdated - the bathroom door didn´t stand close and it had waterdamages on it. It was really...

The bathroom is tiny and unclean. You can barely move in the bathroom and have to squeeze sideways to move (and I'm tall but not particularly big). The room had a ramp from the door to the bed. The room smells bad. Really really bad. At least there was a window to open - but not in the bathroom, the...

I would look elsewhere for accommodation. Although the price is great and rooms were small but sufficient it is on a street with a nightclub for a start. To add to that we got covered from head to toe in bed bug bites and have been itching for days later since our holiday. The frustration of the itching spurred me...

Don't trust the photos you may see! We were supposed to stay there for 3 nights. Upon the arrival we checked in and... made a mistake paying in advance. Then we went to see the room. It was in the end of long narrow and dark corridor on a second floor. After opening the door we thought that by mistake...

The bedrooms are very small, the walls dirty and the bathroom is minuscule. Staff is nice but they charge your credit card before the check out and without noticing the guest. The unique nice thing is the location.

Just ok. To loud at night. No baby cot. Not for families. Tried to get hot water for baby's milk but it was impossible. Toilet looks bad. Was afraid to take shower. Good for some1 who really wants to save money n sleep wherever.

At first, it was pretty good, however in the end of the second day we found a Big BUGG inside of the bathroom. We changed the room, but we had to asked for.. However, The location is very good as well the breakfast. The AC was 6.00€ per night.

On arriving here I was slightly skeptical that I had chosen correctly. However, as my stay here was to be short and most of the time I would be out and about it served it's purpose very well. The room that I had was very compact, to say the least , but it was comfortable and also surprisingly quiet given...

I think this as a good choice for those on a budget: the location is quite close to Puerta del Sol and Plaza Major and within walking distance of the major museums. The bed was comfortable and all rooms are en suite.

Considering the price I paid, the hotel is OK. I must say that the rooms are quite small, and in the summer can be very hot considering that the air conditioner is additional. Is very close to the center, too bad there are prostitutes around the zone...

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
