Hotel's Favourite

This hotel is the perfect location in Madrid with lovely rooms. We stayed here for two nights and we were able to see so much of Madrid and use our hotel as a central location for it all. The staff is very welcoming and I highly recommend using the transportation service recommended by the hotel in order to arrive if you are coming or going to the Madrid airport. This made our arrival process incredibly smooth!

The hotel has a unique charm and the rooms are a bit sparse, but overall perfect for those looking for a quiet, clean, and unique place to stay. Their breakfast is also amazing, but our favorite part was truly the bar! As we were struggling to get on the food schedule at first in Spain, we went to the bar both days. The drinks are incredibly affordable and the cocktails are fantastic as is the service!

The only thing I would change is that I wish our double bed had been made up as a true double rather than two separate beds pushed together. This is something that may have been possible, though I truthfully did not ask if this was an option either.

Bottom line is that if you are looking for a hotel to stay in while in Madrid where you can walk to everything including sites and restaurants, this is the perfect place! I hope you love it as much as we did!

It’s a huge 5 star from me for our stay at the 7 Islas Hotel. It’s cool and quirky and just a few meters from Grand Via. We stayed in Attica 3, it was spotlessly clean and all the extra touches like chocolates and hand written note from the reception manager on arrival were a special touch. The staff are all charming and go the extra mile to make sure that you are looked after. The balcony off the penthouse suite was gorgeous and private also. We are already looking forward to our trip back to stay in the 7 Islas Hotel. It’s a wonderful little gem that made our time in Madrid very special.

7 Islas is the perfect place to stay in Madrid. Everything in the city is within walking distance but also close to metro and bus routes for the less energetic.
Spotlessly clean with contemporary decor and excellent unobtrusive service. Showers have super high pressure and the complimentary Malin & Goetz toiletries, one of my favourite brands, are an added bonus. Including hair conditioner and body lotion.
We experienced superior service on our last night as restaurants and bars closed due to the COVID19 situation. The staff were amazing and I wish them all the best.
When you visit please try Raul's amazing home made gins and vodkas and experience a unparelled taste sensation.

I booked one night for my daughter's 8th birthday and when I made the reservation online through the hoteIs own website I asked them to leave a small detail in the room for her. A card, a note, whatever...
If you want to be a boutique hotel you should pay attention to these things.
The pancakes at breakfast were cold and dry. The guy making the coffee was standing the rest of the time watching is phone, he could spend that time making fresh pancakes...
The look of the hotel is very nice, the rooms, bathrooms etc. but it lacks in personal attention.

I loved the room, it was modern and sleek at the same time it was cozy and felt like home. The breakfasts were good with plenty of options and good service. The breakfast room is in the basement, but they have plants and a water fountain that make you feel like you're outside. The lobby was disappointing since it has so much potential, but just didn't invite the types of gatherings that I often seek when traveling, especially solo or with a small group. I enjoy meeting other people or having a place to sit and read or write or paint and this lobby could be that, but there's something missing. The staff were helpful, but a bit cold. I loved the location that is near some of the iconic historic sites, but also near some lovely neighborhoods with hip restaurants and coffee shops.

Awesome – just awesome. Okay – let me start from the beginning. We had chosen to go for the best room category, the Atico Suite. It was amazing. The spacious room, the nice terrace, simply perfect. The bathroom huge. The industrial design of this hotel was continued in the suites (and rooms). The bed was comfortable, the cleaning was perfect and the staff absolutely friendly and attentive. After we checked-in one hour later we got a welcome drink (not sure it is served only in the Atico-Room Category). However, highly appreciated – we loved it. The Wi-Fi is working well, the location of the hotel is in the center and you are able to discover Madrid by foot. The breakfast itself is not the best one in terms of choices. Good in terms of food waste, but bad in terms of diversification. If you go for a small selection it might be a good idea to change the dishes each day. Different bread, sweets, sausage, warm dishes. It would be helpful and would give the guests a better feeling. The coffee instead was high quality hand made by a waiter each morning. Perfect! As said: the quality was outstanding, but the selection in this category of a hotel could be broader. Conclusion: still good and we would go again, but room for improvement.

The staff at 7 Islas was wonderful- very kind, helpful and knowledgable.
I was very impressed with the value- the price of the room was very reasonable especially for being a cool well decorated boutique hotel in a hip neighborhood.
some good bonuses:
They can store luggage if you plan to walk around after your check out time. There is a chill bar in the lobby with art installations. Everyone I spoke to at the front desk spoke English which was very helpful to me.
I'd plan to stay again next time I'm in Madrid.

We were a family of 4, and we stayed in 2 separate rooms here, in Madrid for 10 days.

The location of this hotel is amazing. It's in the dead center, next to everything you want, by walking distance or metro.

The service here is excellent! They are very polite and professional. The receptionists greet you. when you enter the lobby. The maids are super professional, and the waiters
and batista at the breakfast buffet were amazing and made our trip!

The breakfast buffet was expansive and included a lot of healthier options that you wouldn't expect to find at a hotel , like non dairy milks, nuts and seeds and healthy bread options. The coffee is incredible - you can ask the batista to.make you what type of coffee you want and it is served to your table.

The hotel and its rooms specifically were well designed. Though the rooms were a bit small, they were well thought out and included plenty of storage space, a safe, and even a bidet.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here!

While we had a good experience, I would have expected more for what the hotel brands itself and for how much we were charged. The room was clean and spacious, the location was perfect (next to Gran Via subway station) - so everything was walkable, lots of bars and restaurants around.
What was disappointing? The room was noisy (from partygoers in the street), yet that could be fixed with better insulation. There was no gym in the hotel, and the hotel staff just said to go to a nearby gym and buy (!) a day-pass. And cleaning staff forgot to clean the room one day. At EUR 160 / night without breakfast, I would have expected more.

The hotel is a great choice if you can get it at a competitive price and want to be in the city center.

We stayed at the 7 Islas for five nights over New Year's Eve, and this is the first time back in Madrid since the pandemic started in Feb 2020. It was really wonderful to be back, and to see the hotel and staff again after such a long time. The last time I was at the 7 Islas was in June 2019. We have stayed here many times in the past, and the excellent quality, amenities and comfort remain the same, with new additions to service as well.
Reception staff are super friendly and helpful, and the lobby is a wonderful space. We had lunch there one day, which was really good. You might not think of doing so because of how many restaurants are nearby but that would be a shame. It was also a real pleasure to see the remodelled breakfast room on the lower ground floor for the first time. This is a really stylish addition to the hotel - comfortable, and the food and service are still really good quality. Having proper coffee now made to order is a really nice touch.
We had a room on the fifth floor. I'd forgotten how comfortable the beds were, and the bathroom and room spec are really great. We were on the front of the building above the street and slept really well.
Our friends were staying round the corner in an AirBnB, and when they saw the hotel and our room they decided to extend their time in the city for a few days and stayed in the hotel for two nights. They loved it, and have booked for Easter, as will we. It's in an excellent location between Malasaña and Chueca, walkable to all major places of interest but with a great neighbourhood feel.
Lovely to be back in such a good hotel, and to be made to feel so welcome after such a long time away.
