We came to Madrid for a family girls trip. Senator Gran Via is the place to stay, center spot, close to Metro stations, restaurants, shopping areas and beautiful places to see. The staff was very nice, and helped us in anything we needed with a smile and kindness.

Stayed here for a long weekend with the family. We had 2 rooms that connected so that was fab. Kids and the adults had their own space but connected too. Location is fab, right in the middle of everything. Next to plaza España and walking distance to puerta del sol etc. We had breakfast in the coffee bar downstairs and...

Stayed here on a 3 day break. To be fair I knew it was cheap so I wasn't expecting much. It's 4 star but in truth this is only due to Spa facilities I imagine, which I didn't use so cannot comment on. It's tired, poorly configured, lacks security due the location of its 'in house' cafe bar and is...

Senator Gran Via 70 Spa Hotel Madrid. This hotel was disappointing. It has a poor cafe style bar area and there was no real lounge area to sit in, The breakfasts which were included were basic but nothing special. Just satisfactory. The breakfast room was in need of a complete renovation as it had old kitchen chairs which you would...

Visited this hotel over a weekend, specifically to watch Real Madrid at the Bernabau. Approimately 25 mins by taxi from the airport to hotel. A warm welcome on arrival and we were upgraded to a superior room on the 7th floor. Spacious and airy room with en suite bathroom. Good sized beds, although a little hard. Good wardrobe and storage...

The hotel was ok. The staff was polite and helpfull. We choose the hotel for its underground swimming pool but it was available only during specific hours which happened to be hours we were out of yhe hotel. so we had to pay entrance. The pool itself is amazing with different kind of water (salted/cold/hot &a regular swimming pool) we...

Lovely hotel in centre of Madrid. Ideally situated close to plenty of restaurants and bars. Justva short walk to market, shops, tour bus, theatre, etc. Hotel was clean, comfortable and would definitely recommend. Reasonably priced considering its on a main street in Madrid.

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
