Right across from Atocha station. Very close to Prado and Reina Sophia museums Bed was comfortable Room was quiet and plenty of hot water. Pair of two small elevators typical of older European hotels.

I stayed at this hotel with students on a European Tour. The proximity to the Atocha train station and the Prado was wonderful! It made it easy to get around town. Also, that there was a pharmacy, a café and a coffee shop nearby made it easy to get supplies!

My family of four stayed for three nights while visiting Madrid and its neighbouring cities. The hotel is located opposite the Atocha-Renfe station and very near the Atocha metro station. It is very convenient for travellers to move if they are planning to stay in this hotel. The hotel looks pretty old in my opinion and the rooms was rather...

We stayed 2 nights here and this is a budget hotel so don't expect all the frills. Having said that, it was warm (very warm in fact) clean and very convenient. We arrived by train from Barcelona and only had a short walk down the hill to the hotel. There are about 4 or 5 steps up to reception and...

This hotel is easily accessible from the airport by catching the airport express bus which cost 5 euros per person. They drop you off at Atocha train station which is across the road from the hotel.. You can then travel on the train to other parts of Spain without having to worry about getting to the train station. We had...

Centrally located hotel, right next to one of the main train/metro stations. Within walking distance from the city centre. Reception stuff very polite and helpful. They suggested us many places to visit and many things to do. We had requested for a room on the highest floor, and we got a lovely, big room on the 5th floor, with great...

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighbourhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
