Very nice hotel just off Puerto Del Sol. Helpful staff and very clean rooms. We were on street side with balcony with view of plaza. A little noise but nothing major. View more than made up for slight noise. Nice little restaurant also.

Very, very loud - from the street noise as well as the hallway and neighboring rooms. Cleaning staff were also very noisy! Uncomfortable beds. Really depends on what you prefer - If a Noisy, tourist-packed Times-Square vibe is what you like, then this is for you (not me). Pros: clean, and close to all the attractions and the metro. Bring...

Wonderful location with very comfortable room and helpful staff. Nice to have restaurant associated with the hotel - especially for breakfast. Croissants were excellent and so was cappuccino! Nice quiet location close to metro and easy walk to most sites.

Did not honor 24 hour cancellation policy and their website did not work when I tried to cancel. Was charged full first night rate even though we did not stay and I inquired directly for a refund since their website did not work.

The location of the hotel is unbeatable - right at Puerta de Sol. Many points of interest are walkable - churches, Plaza Mayor, El Rastro. The suburban train (Cercania) and Metro stations were a few steps away. Our room was a good size, possible to open two suitcases at the same time. The room appointments were of good quality, and...

Great people who know service. Alberto at the froont desk was most helpful and the ladies cleaning the rooms were professional. The location is great for navigating around Madrid. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Great location. Helpful staff. Lots of options to choose from in the area. El Corte Ingles is right across the street. Metro is located within a few steps from hotel entrance. Most sites are within walking distance. Rooms are clean and well maintained. The cafe is a nice stop for food.

Stayed week after Easter. Hotel in a great location close to Real Palacio, Cathedral and Prado Museum. We walked to all these sites. Hotel in pedestrian zone right on Puerto del Sol, the top plaza in madrid. Windows soundproof so even with all the square activities it was no problem. Rooms clean, comfortable with good sized bathroom and shower. Would...

We stayed for 5 nights in January. The hotel we had originally booked cancelled our reservation a week before and we booked a room here on short notice. The lobby and adjoining restaurant were nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was nice with almost everything you would expect. The reason for the relatively low rating is due...

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
