Hostal Prado is just a few minutes from Sol station. It's right in the middle of shops and restaurants. The area can be quite loud at night, so might be better to be with friends. Unfortunately, there isn't a lift in the building, so make sure you can carry your luggage up the stairs.

Stayed in a triple room. The photos of the rooms on TripAdvisor are accurate. The room was very clean and were cleaned daily. Contrary to other reviews on here, towels are included and changed if you request it. The hostal is just a few minutes walk from Plaza Del Sol in the centre of the city and there are a...

We would definitely stay here again, rooms are modern and clean. Bars and restaurants just around the corner. Puerta del sol, plaza mayor and the gran via are all walkable from here. It doesn't take long to check in at the marlasca.

We enjoyed staying at Prado hostel. Good beds, clean room, very good location, friendly and adequate receptionist at marlasca hotel. Rooms are not soundproof, we could hear everything in the corridor and the next door rooms.

Clean, Central and value for money. The only annoying thing is you have to collect your key from another one of their hotels around the corner. I didn't know this before arriving. Rooms were very modern and spotlessly clean.

This hostal is simple but clean and perfectly situated near the Plaza St Ana. It is good for its price. The area is full of bars and restaurants and it is a very lively area of Madrid near la Puerta del Sol. The only problem we had is that the reception of the hostal is not in the same building...

We stayed at Prado Hostel for a long weekend and overall had a great stay. However, it would have been nice of them to advise us before arrival on where to pick up the keys as it wasnt at the hotel itself, having a hairdryer in the room and more set of clean towels and toiletries (shampoo&liquid body wash). The...

My partner and I stayed here for one night in July. The reception is located in a different building and after check in it was hard to find the hostel entrance. Once we got inside, the small room was cool, in good condition and mostly clean. The hostel is in an excellent location and wifi was good. Even though we...

Hotel was difficult to find. You check in at one place but stay in another location. Location was good. However the amenities were not good. No soap , ran out of toilet paper, one night no towels , no hair dryer and then said we had to walk over to other hotel where we checked in to pick them up....

I booked this hotel on booking.com a month ago and had confirmation number and email. My husband and I arrived in Madrid on Friday night, got to the hotel and they did not even answer the door. They answered their intercom and said "Occupado" and hung up the phone. They would not pick up the line after that or answer...

Staying in Huertas

Neighbourhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighbourhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
