Small hotel with a nice restaurant/bar. The lobby is much prettier than I expected given the cost. It is within walking distance of Madrid's three major art museums and on several bus routes - it is also convenient to the Metro and transportation to the airport. Many restaurants are nearby. Our room faced the Paseo Prado, one of the busiest...

Stayed for a night. Very central in location and friendly staff. Lights didn't seem to work for some reason, but was only there to sleep so no problem. The room was a bit small, but still vary nice. Liked the fact there was a safe in the room closet. Reasonably priced.

I stayed in a double room at Hotel Mora for 5 nights prior to Christmas Eve. Though the room was small, it was very comfortable and the hotel was spotless. The hotel staff were very kind and professional and the cleaning staff made my bathroom sparkle every day and changed my bed on a daily basis. The location of this...

So I missed my last train home and found myself stranded at Atocha - a quick look in Booking.com found this hotel about 5 minutes walk from the station and under 70 euros- I booked and walked in - the receptionist greeted me by name lol and was very friendly. Room was small but with a comfy double bed and...

The hotel is clean, and very, very simple in all aspects: towels, toiletries, room size, and amenities. We stayed here years ago and returned in part because it remains very reasonable and is perfectly located. Walking distance from Atocha Station, the Airport Bus, and three major museums. It is also around the corner from a lovely, lively neighborhood with very...

I stayed for 3 nights last week, and had a cosy (small) twin room overlooking the street. It had a double set of thick windows, so no noise at night despite all- night traffic. I slept well, and normally I'm not a great sleeper. The room and bathroom were very clean, and clean towels provided every day. The location was...

Because we had people to meet in the Botanic Gardens this hotel was an obvious choice but there were several bonuses to our choice. Close to Atocha Railway Station and only a few minutes walk to the Prado and other important museums and galleries, loads of good eating locations within ten minutes walk, and, unknown to us when we booked,...

Just back from a girls weekend in Madrid and we stayed at the Hotel Mora. What a great location for any visit to Madrid. Right beside the botanical gardens, the caxia forum and so close to many wonderful places. It is only a short hop to the city with bus stops so close by. Taxi in was only around 6.50....

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighbourhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
