We stayed in the Preciados Hotel in Nov./16 and it was a very pleasant stay. The location is excellent, closer to several restaurants, shopping malls and not far from the major city attractions like the Prado Museum or the Royal Palace. The rooms are clean and quiet and the hotel service is very good.

Good location walking distance to all the main attractions and close to the shops. The hotel is located on a pedestrian street so not at all noisy. Good room with tea and coffee, plus iron in every room. Great breakfast!

Reading the past reviews, I had an impression that this hotel is traditionally normal. However, the front and at least the room I stayed in was refurbished up to date. Looking at the single room my friend stayed in, which is very narrow, I recommend standard queen room situated on the other side of the lift (the price difference is...

The best part about this hotel was the location.. almost every touristic place in madrid was at walking distance. Public transport was also very close from this location. The rooms were small for the price you pay but given the location, it was worth it. Service was also great.

Loved our stay here. It is the perfect combo of a great location and a comfortable room. Calle Preciados is a pedestrianised street in central old Madrid leading down to Puerta del Sol. The El Corte Ingles department store is right nearby at the bend of the street and has a good basement supermarket if you need to stock up....

Great Hotel, right in the heart of the city. Rooms very clean, quiet (soundproofed) and modern. Some rooms with balconies overlooking a bustling pedestrianized street. Location perfect for walking to the main sights and shops. All the staff were very helpful and polite. Couldn't fault anything about it. Would stay again if ever revisiting Madrid.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights on Oct 6th-8th 2016. Let me start with the some of the best reception staff I have ever come across Marie and her other colleagues. Not just helping us with everything form our check-in, check-out and hotel queries, but almost a friend to tourists like us who have traveled all the...

Excellent quiet location but close to all the downtown bustle and attractions, with many informal eating places and shops just steps away. A very good restaurant inside the hotel, with a decent, convenient, reasonably priced breakfast buffet every day. Very courteous and helpful staff. We loved Madrid, and will definitely stay at this hotel when we return.

We stayed here for 4 nights after a thorough internet search of hotels in the area. We chose this one for its great location & excellent reviews & we were really glad we did. It was in walking distance from all the places we wanted to see, with places to eat right outside the hotel, and close to the metro...

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
