Stayed here for one week on a room only basis, but the hotel, room and staff were all excellent. The room was a standard double, facing out onto the garden to the rear of the hotel and was spacious and comfortable. Rooms come with large beds, super comfortable, and also a kitchen with cooking facilities, crockery etc., and also a...

This is our third stay at this hotel and since our first stay, we loved it. Everything is excellent, location, front desk, service, attention, friendliness, you name it, they provide it. It is a small hotel with all facilities and excellent cafeteria and restaurant They make every effort so you can enjoy your stay. Rooms are very large and fully...

Jardin de Recoletos is an oasis amidst the hassle and bustle of Madrid. Quietly and perfectly situated between Plaza Colon and Puerta de Alcalá, it is ideally located to enjoy all the major attractions viz museums, Retiro, the old town, Gran Via, Puerta del Sol, etc. Rooms are spacious and well equipped, breakfast extensive and a joy, a quiet garden...

We stayed five nights at this hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and the room spacious. Central Madrid was easy to access by public transport and Retiro park and the Prado museum a few minutes walk away. Highly recommended!

We spent 3 nights here. The room was large and had a kitchenette and a very good size bathroom with bath/shower. The bath towels were large and fluffy. There was a little juliette balcony which enables you to get some fresh air. The hotel is located in a very central area which is close to restaurants and shopping. It is...

The hotel is not in a particular happening neighborhood per se, but within walking distance to a lot of central areas which was ideal for us. The room was nice, big, and fairly recently renovated. It was also nice, quiet, and dark. Moreover it surprisingly had a big kitchenette (stove, fridge, etc). The staff was very nice and spoke fine...

Dear guest, We are very happy to know that your stay in our hotel has been so pleasant. We are located in the Barrio de Salamanca, a few meters from the most exclusive shops of Serrano Street and a large number of tourist attractions such as Puerta de Alcalá, Prado Museum, Thyssen Bornemisza Museum or Retiro Park. I say surprisingly because at first I was put off by what appeared to be a downmarket operation when I was expecting something a bit more upmarket. This is not an elegant residence like the Villa Cora in Florence, nor is it as pleasingly modern as the Apex Temple Court in London. I don't know how to describe it other...

We spent a weekend in Madrid and I can only say that we were delighted with this 4 star hotel. Extremely well located 5 min from the parque el Retiro, and near the best museums, in the heart of the shopping street and 5 min walking distance from Madrid's best night life and restaurants. Very quiet with a garden, great...

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
