Lapepa was a lovely experience during our four nights in Madrid last week. The people there are very warm and welcoming - and helpful with all kinds of tips and last minute advice. The B&B is at an excellent location within walking distance of the must-see museums, the Puerta del Sol, the Retiro park as well as plenty of good...

This place is a bit off beat and feels quite homely. The best thing is the friendly staff who are really helpful. The location is excellent too (close to museums, airport bus stop etc.) and very quiet as you can't hear any noise from the street (being on top floor). I also liked the décor – quite cool and trendy,...

This B&B is very nice and clean. It's located at Plaza Las Cortes, near to Congreso de los Diputados. Everything is a walking distance. Nice bed, breakfast is fruit, juice, bread, cheese, ham, cereals, milk, yougurth and coffee. The shower is too small, and I'm small.

Loved everything about Lapepa. Especially the friendly staff who were all brilliant and helpful. Rooms pretty, neat and very clean. Loved the old door headboard! Breakfasting area was brilliantly set out. The location was fantastic - couldn't believe how central it was for the places we anted to visit. Again the staff made our stay complete.

Located on the 7th floor, this great little place was set in an ideal location, high enough to not hear the traffic, but so close to everything you need in Madrid. What made the difference however was the whole La Pepa Chic team! What a wonderful welcome, which made us feel cozy, happy and really appreciated right from the start....

We stayed here at Sept 2014 for 5 nights and were happy with the experience. A list of pros: The staff. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful in making suggestions. Thanks to the weekend and afternoon staff, we were able to find some excellent restaurants and tapas bars. Also, they provided suggestions for new foods to try. Any question...

Do you want something for under $100.00 in downtown Madrid that is both clean and quiet? We recommend this hotel for just those needs as well as for it's the friendly staff. The hotel is also an easy walk distance from the airport bus.

first, the disappointing part - This is NOT a b&b. Common space in hostels far surpass the cramped common area her. There is no comfortable chair in the place. The front desk controls the air conditioning, so there was no room a/c at night. now for the positive - immaculate, nice linens, comfortable bed, very centrally located.

Staying in Paseo del Prado

Neighbourhood Profile
Paseo del Prado
The area around the elegant Paseo del Prado boulevard is much-visited by both locals and tourists. The world-famous Prado, the Reina Sofia, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums form a triangle of art and culture that spans this grand and beautiful avenue. On weekdays, the Prado Museum opens its doors for free after-work hours, drawing a diverse and excited queue of art lovers that wraps around the block. Palacio de Cibeles and Círculo de Bellas Artes cultural centers are other artsy hangouts to check out, with rooftop bars that provide impressive views of the city. While the Paseo del Prado and its roundabouts form a busy throughway in Madrid, a broad green pedestrian park in the middle is a calm and gorgeous place for a relaxing stroll. Just east of the museums, the Retiro Park is always a confluence of activity as families and friends of all ages take to the pretty paths and lawns to stretch their legs or to have a picnic.
