My wife and I stayed 4 nights and have only positive experiences to share: Modern hotel with a nice, large, and clean room, great bathroom, and very comfortable bed. Very nice front office staff. Kitchenette with micro, fridge, crockery and utensils (we prepared our own breakfasts so I can’t express an opinion on the hotel breakfast). TV with Spanish LaLigaTV...

We enjoyed are stay of 4 nights. The hotel staff is friendly, the breakfast great, and most importantly the bed very comfortable. We were visiting my daughter who lives about a 15 min pleasant walk from the hotel. We didn't use public transport, other than uber for the airport. Which was great! Nice restaurants around and shopping. Would stay again.

Stayed at the El Madrono for 4 nights. We arrive close to midnight but our rooms were ready for a good night sleep. We booked the 'Style' room for the for garden facing windows. I am not sure about the classic rooms which face the street so there might be street noise. Overall this is a quite area in Salamanca...

We stayed here for 4 nights. The room was very big with a great shower. We were at the back of the hotel overlooking the garden and all of the nights were very quiet. I thought that it was excellent value at just over 100 Euro per night without breakfast. Breakfast is €11 extra so we didn't bother and just...

The room was large, clean well maintained. Nice lounge area within the room with comfy settee. Bed was really comfy. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They even stored our bikes so we didn't have to leave them on the back of the car overnight. Easy to get to from motorway. Would highly recommend.

Had a recent business trip to Madrid and came across the El Madrono via a booking website. First impressions were not great as the 'street appeal' on what looks like an urban side street gave us a little feeling of trepidation. The perception improved slightly when we entered the hotel as the reception was large and airy but very traditional...

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighbourhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
